RE: Elite TV - Live Webstream - oklahoma001 - 19-12-2011 17:54 ah i see, so unless your a member where the stream timesout every 30 minutes or so, there isnt much use in us with a subscription capturing the stream. even still having to restart everytime must be a pain, ive just gained more respect for the video posters RE: Elite TV - Live Webstream - aceman65 - 21-12-2011 03:21 I see my post made here has started to become reality. We may like the new quality, but I don't like the fact that they have put extra encryption on it, making it unrecordable by normal methods. Even stream recording doesn't work on stream 1 & 4 now. So unless you have a degree in computer science and are willing to write your own scripts for RTMP dump, (Which doesn't actually work for me ) then your basically screwed. Nice one Jamie. I guess I'll just bow out now, as I can no longer be arsed to spend all the extra time needed to record Elite's streams. So from now on, all I'll be posting from Elite, is the video's from my back recordings. RE: Elite TV - Live Webstream - dazaman - 21-12-2011 03:52 I hope as well as you do ace that with BS improving theres and allowing recording it may give Elite a kick up the arse, if not they only have themselves to blame. You have done a great job ace but you can only help and advise so much before saying fuck ya, i do hope they change there minds about blocking stream recording but i and you have seen no change in quite some time other than the wrong way for video makers A sad day RE: Elite TV - Live Webstream - aceman65 - 21-12-2011 04:33 Thanks Daz, But unfortunately Elite seem to have fallen, hook line & sinker, for Orca's bullshit in regards to the security steps needed. Even though I told them to check my findings out via an independant webmaster, to confirm them. But Elite seem to have got themselves into a paranoid mode about people ripping them off, and all the extra bandwidth costs. What they don't seem to grasp, is the fact that it makes no difference to the bandwidth being used if you watch the stream or record the stream. The usage is the same, and therefore the costs are the same. Third party sites that were streaming their transmission have been effectively blocked from doing so via the domain verification system they use. Which effectively only allows certain IP's permission to stream their broadcast. All this extra rtmpe encryption is not needed. As all that does is block direct recording of the stream. Both BS & RLC use the domain verification system. But don't use rtmpe encryption. So if BS & RLC also deem it's not necessary, then who's right? Us or Orca? RE: Elite TV - Live Webstream - operoc25 - 21-12-2011 14:35 have noticed that elite have started to advertise on the webstream. This is very annoying when trying to record. Hope this only happens through the day. Yet again another fuck up from elite. not happy at all. Thanks operoc thats how i started recording a long time ago and results where not how i like, but thanks anyway mate RE: Elite TV - Live Webstream - aceman65 - 22-12-2011 03:54 Yep, I used it when I first started to record Elite's streams. But it took me a couple of months of playing around with it until I got the right balance of quality and frame rate. But there's no way I would go back to it now. The only time I have used it recently, was on my Elite@home video's, as they weren't broadcast with a good resolution or quality, so there was no great loss in doing so. There are ways you can still record Elite's streams but it's complicated to explain, and it's dependant on a list of system requirements. (.net Framework 4 being one of them) Which I don't have installed on this machine. Elite did have one of the best webstreams going. It still has the quality, but I would class it as one of the worst now. The other channels have caught them up, passed them, and are speeding off into the distance way ahead of them. They have got some real catching up to do in this department if the are ever going to redeem themselves. RE: Elite TV - Live Webstream - oklahoma001 - 22-12-2011 04:07 quite the predicament, Elite has one of, if not the best quality streams.(most of the time) yet its a bitch to record. BS and RLC are recordable but we're all aware of their quality. |
