Carwin to win by KO TDK @ 2/1.Get down the bookies Wink

That's the result I'm leaning towards. I really can't see this going three rounds.

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/sport/garethadavies/100017199/ufc-marshall-zelaznik-clears-up-questions-on-uk-ufc-events-in-2011/

A good read this, I said a few weeks back that the availability of arena's would be a problem so hearing them talk of the arena size with regards to a show being profitable makes sense as it wouldn't be a PPV show.

I wouldn't mind the UK shows being the same time as the US shows as I record the US shows anyway so it wouldn't make any difference but it may cause a problem with policing (Cost & man power) 10,000 plus possibly drunk & rowdy fans (Unless thay made them drink free events due to the finish time) on a Saturday night, Sunday morning.
They could also bring them forward an hour 1am UK 8pm East Coast 5pm West eventhough this would be another hour early for the US but it would only be 3 or 4 shows a year.

I don't agree with Marshall Zelaznik talking about UK fans thinking most of the UK cards are shit when he says "I think the mistake here is believing the most vocal fans on the forums represent the majority and, really, they don't" the fans on the forums are the fans who are fully into the UFC & the fans who the UFC should be foremost catering to, That said I have the same views as the said fans but this is the only forum I post my views on the UFC & I doubt Zelaznik was talking about Babeshows.co.ukWink

I hope they do sort it out for next year but also hope the fuck not they start going PPV over here aswell as putting on 2am shows so they can get twice the PPV moneyannoyed

Big UFC news:

Quote:UFC President Dana White had a lot to say on Thursday, as the promotion head made several announcements regarding the promotion's future for 2011 and beyond.

First, three-round main events are soon to be extinct in the UFC. The organization will move to five-round headliners for all bouts signed in the future, regardless of whether a title is contested.

White had previously mentioned that five-round main events were eminent for the promotion, but he declined to offer a concrete time table during that announcement. On Thursday, White gave those in attendance a more definitive picture, revealing that headlining non-title bouts will no longer be signed as three-round affairs. However, fights that have already been inked as three-rounders will remain 15-minute contests, such as in the case of Phil Davis and Rashad Evans’ duel at UFC 133.

Additionally, the UFC boss also revealed that the promotion will unveil a flyweight division in the near-future, possibly even by year's end. While the promotion is currently in talks to acquire new flyweight talent, two names in particular jump out as likely candidates for the new, 125-pound division. Two of the UFC's smaller bantamweights, both Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson have long been rumored as candidates for a potential cut to flyweight if such an opportunity existed, though nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

While the promotion will begin to promote 125-pound affairs in the near-future, While also asserted that it will take time to build the division and eventually crown a champion.

On a different note, White revealed that Strikeforce welterweight king Nick Diaz will vacate his title in order to challenge UFC champion Georges St. Pierre for his strap at UFC 137 in October. Henceforth, Diaz will be regarded as a UFC fighter, though he could return to Strikeforce at a hypothetical point in the future. As a result, two to-be-named Strikeforce contenders will battle later this year to decide a new 170-pound ace of the hexagonal cage.

It wouldn't bother me either mate. We're used to having to stay up to all hours to watch the UFC so it wouldn't make any difference to UK fans.

As long as they don't make it PPV.They charge 50 Dollars a show in the US.That'd be around 30 quid a show for us i reckon, double the price of a Boxing PPV.

RE: UFC - mitchell - 10-06-2011 17:17

If it did go PPV then it would have to be on Sky Box Office so the price would be £14.95 or £9.99 if they went with that shitty Primetime channel, & with an average of almost 15 PPV shows a year over the last 3 years thats £224.25 SBO & £149.85 PT, we've spoke of this before & the unanimous Babeshows vote was, FUCK OFF!!!

I'm not having the 5 round non title fight main events, it takes away the intensity of a title fight, why not have all fights 5 rounds, this means on TUF finale & Fight Night shows fighters who may not be anywhere near the top of the game are fighting championship style fights, boxing is 12 rounds no matter what but the UFC will never do this as they only have a 3 hour show & too many fighters. I just don't see the point in it!!!
