The first message from the government made sense, but this new one is too vague. What does stay alert and control the virus actually mean in practical terms ?

People are already saying this is designed to encourage people to break lock down rules (with the green instead of red), so the government get their debunked herd immunity, but won't have to take the blame for deaths caused. It'd sound like a stupid conspiracy in normal times, but well Boris is PM, so...

Boris is such a born ornitor.Rolleyes

He's so good that he managed to bluster his way through a pre recorded message.
And by doing that avoiding any challenging questions from the press.

Seen on Twitter a lot of people saying things like golf course can reopen on Wednesday and people can start doing things like fishing, hopefully people will not go to crazy , also be interesting to see how the people in Wales and Scotland act when they see the pictures of everyone going to the beach next weekend if it's sunny

They'll be rushing to put their towels on the sunbeds before we do lol Mind you, one expert on 5 live did predict sales of tents will go up and most likely kick start the economy lol

Sorry, but I just can't get past the old gag Be Alert - Britain needs Lerts!

What is the Alert system even for, why do we need a 1 to 5 number to tell us where things are at, what is it achieving?
Is it just to distract from the much bigger number of deaths every day? We are currently at 4 sounds so much better than 600 people died today!

As for 'control the virus'.
Even the original message of 'wash your hands' made more sense than this, at least it was a real, practical thing to do that actually did some good.
Just got my shopping in, first thing to do when getting home - must 'control the virus'.
Dinner time at work, must 'control the virus' before eating my sandwiches.
Been to the loo, now 'control the virus'.

And now that 'Protect the NHS' has been dropped, does that mean the extra funding will start being removed and it will start being run into the ground again?
