RE: Top Gear - skully - 02-04-2018 14:42 That Alpine went up like it was made from paper. It would have been a disaster if it had burst into flames parked up next to other cars. Chris really does push the cars to the limit and beyond...the Volvo engine mounts failing was funny, he was treating them like rally cars. lol. I really do rate these three as a team, there's good banter and rivalry, and despite Matt being the most famous it feels more equal than old TG. RE: Top Gear - Doddle - 03-04-2018 07:02 The balance between them is right here - though Matt, like Jeremy, is the top dog, the others are good enough not to look like patsies. Also Matt can pass for someone doing proper reviews, and do the light comic stuff well enough. RE: Top Gear - biggles - 03-04-2018 14:19 I thought there was a little too much track action in this series especially the American episodes. Good reviews of the cars though and the guys have found there feet well now. RE: Top Gear - ShandyHand - 31-05-2018 19:34 Le Blanc's off... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-44320696 RE: Top Gear - skully - 31-05-2018 19:56 A shame, but you can't fault his reasoning. It can't be easy splitting time between several countries filming different shows etc. Hopefully they will carry on with Chris and Rory and avoid the need for a star name, if they need a third, bring in a female petrol head. They could do alot worse than give Sabine the gig, full time Hopefully they could still get Le Blanc to do a couple of features filmed in the US. RE: Top Gear - Charlemagne - 31-05-2018 20:39 Is it too early to bring back Jeremy Clarkson? RE: Top Gear - Doddle - 31-05-2018 20:41 He is a star with other fish to fry, to be fair. 3 years probably gives the BBC the leverage not to let any future presenters go on for longer than desired. I doubt it'll be the last we'll see of him, though. RE: Top Gear - ShandyHand - 01-06-2018 13:36 Looking at the bookies favourites to replace Le Blanc: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-44329005 This Guardian piece however thinks the series should end now: https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2018/jun/01/matt-leblanc-exits-top-gear-time-to-be-sent-to-the-scrapheap RE: Top Gear - lovebabes56 - 02-06-2018 06:45 I think Matt put a lot in to the show and made it a lot better to watch after the debacle with Chris. The problem being is that the chemistry part needs to be right. Personally I would love to see Jeremy return but can't see it coming off. I would have reservations about James Martin doing but do actually feel that maybe Steve Coogan would be a good fit. we shall see |
