Have to disagree another pointless addition. The men's game should follow the women's game where all these minnow sides have to come through their own qualifying group of matches in order to be worthy of playing in qualifying group proper

Sometimes I wonder if a pre qualifying completion for lower ranked national sides is worth it when you look at FIFA ranking list, where would you draw the line with regards to making sides pre qualify? any team ranked lower than 100? 150?

The point is Gibraltar were effectively banned from international football by Spain until recently so being in any qualifying campaign is a massive victory for them not if they should pre qualify or be in a minnows pot, they can now play as an international side and that has to be a good thing.

I thought you England fans would be happy that there is a new International team that you have a chance of winning comfortably against..

Na we'd probably draw 0-0

If we won only 3-0 against Gibraltar some other nations would probably raise a few eyebrows! don't forget San Marino did score against us!!

A great quote from Glenn Hoddle on ITV4 a few minutes ago "your head is different to your chest" I think he should be England manager again with such insight. After all Hodgson can't tell his arse from his elbow.

I've just been reading about a new football competition in India to rival the cricket IPL. It is called the ISL, and is a 10 week league between 8 teams, involving local and overseas players.
Names mentioned are David James, Freddie Ljungberg & Alessandro del Pierro.
David James will be playing for Kerala Blasters.
The bigger name players are rumoured to be on "millions of dollars".
The competition starts on 12 October. Sounds like a load of nonsense but the potential audience is huge, and India is almost completely untapped in the football world.

With so many over the hill players it will be like the walking football those old guys are playing in the Barclays ad.
