I generally enjoyed the IoW stuff, good to have Muse and Kasabian back, the latter seem to have got over the loss of their lead singer quite comfortably. Madness and Shaggy and others were fine too. My only issue as ever is the schedule over-runs so you need to record everything or end up missing the ends of some longer sets. That said, this was more of a Day 1 issue than Days 2 and 3.

Looking at listings for the imminence of Glastonbury, they're pulling out some stops but by no means all. Perhaps there'll be a drinking game where you have to take a drink every time a presenter tells the audience to check the bloody iPlayer.

Kendrick Lamar's show was easily better than previous rap headliners (Jay Z , Kanye).

Arctic Monkeys and Guns N Roses also to be headliners. GNR about 20-30 years too late, but well, we'll see. Cat "Yusuf" Stevens doing the Legends slot on Sunday afternoon too, which seems a bit left-field.

The pointed absence of any chicks in these announcements has caused some ire.

SA have been pushing that the Isle of Wight festival is next weekend. However this is as nothing compared to the BBC which has been plugging Glasto (the week after IoW) for what seems like weeks already. None of the acts, just the fact it's on the BBC.

Isle of Wight was mostly entertaining, let down by the cheesy presenters as usual.

Speaking of which, Arctic Monkeys are confirmed to play Glasto tonight, despite Alex' brush with laryngitis.

Top performance from the Foo Fighters yesterday. And Cate Blanchett danced on stage in a bright yellow suit for Sparks.
