If BS girls aren't an option for Bluebird, and they're going to have 50 girls who are 'existing talent', those 50 aren't going to be sucked into Bluebird from some vacuum. I wonder if BS will lose girls anyway, through a knock-on effect - Elite (and other non-BS channels) will be looking to replace the girls that have left, I'm assuming. Course, there's nothing (except contracts ) to stop ex-BS girls from moving to Bluebird after that. I suspect there'll be some surprising reshuffling, at the very least. Elite actually has a good few months now to shore up their position before Bluebird launches their channels. Despite the recent departures, Elite currently have some good girls working for them on their shows, and they are broadcasting every night. Bluebird aren't, and right now can't compete. I'm not going to predict what might happen when new channels get launched. Also, well done to elitetvonline for keeping quiet on this (publically, anyway) , especially in the face of some provocation. Appearances count for a lot, and you're looking a load more professional in this matter just now, imo. PS. I'm wondering if this comment belongs on another thread - it fits in with what other people have been discussing, but not strictly under the heading. Feel free to move if you know of somewhere more appropriate, mods PPS I would prefer not the twilight zone RE: Ashley Has Left Elite - vostok 1 - 20-04-2010 13:57 (20-04-2010 09:05 )aaron Wrote: I predict that your prediction will be wrong. I hope I am wrong, as competition and variety always benefits the consumer. I do predict this for the following reasons: 1) EPG Slots: BlueBird are purchasing a number of them. Existing channels have decided to sell them. When you occupy the majority of EPG slots, you become the predominate presence. 2) Cash flow: BlueBird has spent upwards of $15 million on building a vast library of porn productions. So it would seem that getting out their cheque book is not a problem. They seem focused on long term investment without the need to gain an immediate return. 3) Borrowed time: One of the major players is on their final strike. Any further infraction could result in Ofcom pulling the plug on their operation and withdrawing their broadcast licence. I would assume that a company the size of BlueBird could quite easily purchase their EPG slots. The rumour is that BabeWorld is also selling up to BlueBird. 4) Talent: It would seem that many performers want to head to BlueBird. I would guess that is because of further opportunity and higher pay. When pay is raised it puts pressure on other broadcasters to match it and in-turn affects their bottom line. So once again it boils down to economics. So to summarise: We are now witnessing a large conglomerate headed by a very successful and wealthy business man heading into an arena that is fragmented with the current broadcasters all scratching for a piece of the pie and trying to survive. Your thoughts Aaron? RE: Ashley Has Left Elite - Winston Wolfe - 20-04-2010 15:10 Put money aside temporarily and think of "brand image"... Babestation, Bang Babes & Elite TV have a fun/glamour style image. Bluebird have these big plans, and whilst being very interesting, their current brand image is porn. Nothing wrong with that, but anyone thinking about joining them has to be sure about this image... As a potential director, I could quite easily adapt to any of those individual images. Naturally I have ideas in mind for certain girls, and Ashley was one of them. So all of these departures kinda throws a spanner in the works... Of course the main channels may be happy with the current formats they have, and may not wish to expand or experiment with different style projects... I'm sorry but this is the biggest load of codswallop I've heard in a while. An agreement is apparently reached with Ashley. You quite clearly couldn't wait to get the news out. So do you decide to break it by saying: Ashley Emma has joined Bluebird No, it's: Ashley has left Elite It seems that you were aiming to rub in the fact that you had damaged what will be a potential rival rather than celebrate a coup for your own channel. I don't expect you to agree if people find you arrogant but trust me, that's how it's coming across. And to claim you've acted in a professional manner is quite frankly laughable. And without wanting to get into some kind of Jerry Springer type cheerleading frenzy here, if you are looking to see what behaving professionally means, I suggest you take a leaf out of Elite's book in their reaction to this thread. In your original post you said "I predict that in less than a year the 900 channels will be the exclusive domain of Blue Bird." Now you're only talking about being the "predominate presence". My thoughts are that Babestation channels will still be around in a year's time as they have a non-aggression pact with Bluebird. Other channels will still be around because not everyone will like Bluebird shows and there will be a market for alternatives. I also think there might be another new channel(s) on the way, apart from Bluebirds, which would spoil a lot of your reasoning. RE: Ashley Has Left Elite - aceman65 - 20-04-2010 18:17 You all seemed to have missed the fact, that it would be impossible for BlueBird to control all the Babe Channels, as the Monopolies Commission would step in and prevent it. RE: Ashley Has Left Elite - admiral decker - 20-04-2010 18:29 To add to what aaron said, gaining control of the Babeworld fleet is a start, but it hardly represents the ability to put all other channels out of buisness. Plus there will always be girls who don't choose to work for Bluebird. Given the wide availability of adult entertainment, it's hard to believe that the Competition Commission would be bothered by who owns the babe channels. |
