Your not getting the point of this one dear, Ofcom, an unelected body, are the the ones deciding what the rules are going to be. It was already decided in the high court by a judge, the material was not not harmful. That decision was overturned by the then Home Secretary, another poof ! Since then censorship has increased, not relaxed. Have seen the clips mentioned, and believe me they have broken no `LAW`,just the jumped up `RULES` self made and self proclaimed by Ofcom. Go for it Playboy, drag these [ante-every thing to do with erotica] bigots to court.I dare bet there is not a court in the land that would that would take the side of Ofcom against` LAW` which has been passed by the HIGHEST court in the land. Down with these petty `Criminals`, OFCOM, who are in fact breaking many laws all the time by making there own rules, even making a rule that they can`t be challenged in a Magistrate court, and lastly hiding behind a cloak of secrecy that so many of these quangos hide behind. None of their minutes of their meetings are made public unless they themselves say so. Most of the time they hide behind another one of there own made rules, `We don`t believe it is in the public interest to divulge this information` RE: Ofcom's next target - eccles - 08-02-2011 22:00 By law they have to publish minutes of meetings, and years ago the Information Commissioner told them that they could only withhold sensitive parts for 6 months. But they dont have to supply information unless someone actually requests it. As Gold Plated Pension might point out, most public bodies have been ordered to publish masses more information than ever before. Every payment over £500, team structures and even pay of staff over £58k have to be published this month or next. Like to see Ofcom try to explain why they should be the only public body above the rules. Go on people. Write direct to Ofcom. Write to your MP. Write to the Dept of Media and Culture. Write to the papers. Shame them into responding. RE: Ofcom's next target - Scottishbloke - 09-02-2011 03:22 Well you only need to take a look at tonights show's all across the board of channels to see what ofcom paranoia has done to them. All in all it's been a shit nights viewing from more or less all the channels tonight. Be mindful of ofcom yes but please don't pass that off as an excuse for a poor show. This is exactly why ofcom have to go as channels simply get away with it so long as the calls are coming in and they are making money they don't give 2 fucks about the entertainment on show. An end to ofcom means these channels would have to answer for a poor show! An end to ofcom means these channels would have to answer for a poor show! I would agree with this. Babestation has been very poor, as has Elite, despite Caty's efforts. Red Light? Bleh. 22? Better, but only by a bit. Sport? The best, but still a bit tame. I've skipped much of the babe channels tonight because of it. We are beyond bored with the censorship. Things need to change. Well the channel's encrypted material is nowhere near R18 standard, so how likely is it that it would take a chance by showing such material on Freeview? Of course, the conspiracy theorists among us might argue that some 'harder' material was shown on Freeview in order to gain more subscriptions, only for the new subscribers to find that the actual programmes were the usual heavily-censored stuff we are used to seeing on TVX and The Adult Channel. Forum Posts - SYBORG666 - 09-02-2011 16:50 I really couldn't give to fucks which channel goes next because they're all incredibly dull and boring now. It's a shame because unfortunately the babechannels will eventually either go bust or get shutdown. How will they keep getting callers if they are losing viewers because the viewer won't call if they're falling asleep watching the tripe that is being shown. The only callers they will eventually be getting is the under-agers. No viewers = No callers No callers = No money. If the producers think that they will always have callers, then all I need to do is remind them of Babeworld. Babeworld started off a few years ago as a very popular channel and now have gone bust. None of the babechannels are invincible and they need to smell the roses. On another note, we have to give RCTV credit because they have the balls to come and take part on this thread Unlike the others who prefer the cowards way |
