The FA don't seem in much of a hurry to find a new England manager. They obviously think that with 3 months to go until the Euros there's still plenty of time! Anyway in the meantime the temporary England manager has named Scott Parker as his England captain.

According to some of the press, Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola are both very much in the running to become the next England manager.

News... it's been stated today that the FA will not appoint a new England manager until the end of the season.

It's interesting to see that some of the media are now carrying stories distancing Redknapp from the England job.

To be honest, what has Harry actually achieved? Any success he has got with Tottenham has mainly been bought! He has no international experience, so why is he suddenly the answer?

Someone like Hodgson would be better, he gets the best out of average players (Fulham and WBA) and people will point to Liverpool, but Queen Kenny isn't exactly doing great (Carling Cup hardly matters)

Jack, you forgot... Harry did over spend massively at Portsmouth but performed miracles to go on and beat Cardiff in the final 1-0. Portsmouth have since become a sustainable club thanks to Harry's excellent financial stability... Oh wait... Yeah, and he worked wonders at Southampton too, ensuring excellent financial stability also, and joining them because he loves the club and not to try and get one over his past employers. Harry is such an honourable and excellent candidate for the job!

Good post iamthatjack. The FA are obviously in agreement with you.

I had been wondering for a while if Tottenham's shambolic 5-2 defeat against Arsenal was going to make any difference to the FA's thinking, plus the 5-1 defeat against Chelsea in the FA Cup.

Trevor Brooking was one of the 4 people who made the decision to go for Hodgson and he apparently doesn't get on with Redknapp and hasn't done for years. Was that a factor in the decision?
