Apparently he has to serve at least half of this new sentence before being considered for parole, so 3 years. He's already served 1 year of the first sentence, so that's 4 years inside for a murder ... almost seems worth it!
Mandela wasn't convicted of murder (or even manslaughter), how many years did he serve? Nice country (if your face fits).

Mandela was imprisoned for conspiracy to overthrow the state. Isn't that a form of treason?

South Africa's National Prosecuting Authority is appealing Pistorius's 6 year prison sentence, describing it as "shockingly too lenient" and having the "potential to bring the administration of justice into disrepute".
