I was wondering if there was some special reason for this and apparently it is a federal law that “the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing.” That's my fact for the day.

are you allowed to wipe yer arse with it??ImportantCool

More BBC incompetence during Usain Bolt's farewell. They decided yet another montage was more important.

Where are they going to next - Qatar? looks pretty much looks like it could be a test run for the stadiums for the 2022 World Cup and yet I don't think the spiritual home of the Olympics (Athens) has ever held them... London you have produced the best Athletics World Championships ever and I think let's hope the experience our young athletics have learned from these championships stands in good stead we have some good youngsters let's hope that the funding they get continues so they can progress further
Also we need to see the coaching side of things develop as well so that older retired athletes are able to pass on their knowledge too

sure they are going to eugenie oregon which just happens to be the Headquarters of Nike

RE: Athletics - SecretAgent - 13-08-2017 21:54

^^They only need one stadium for the Athletics and it will be at the Khalifa International Stadium that was built in 1976 but has been refurbished recently and will also be used for the World Cup. Athens probably can't afford to host anything at the moment.

The UCI held the Cycling Road World Championships in Doha last year and it was a farce. There were almost no Spectators and that's for an event that's free to watch!

Yeah for some reason they hadn't factored in 40 degree heat, crosswinds & a lot of sand as being reasons why spectators might not want to stand on the roadside for 6 hours Big Laugh

Only just seen this post! Athens has held them, in 1997 or 1999. Can't remember which.
