By defeating Poland 2-1 today, Senegal have ended a run of 4 losses out of 4 for African teams at this World Cup. Japan beat Colombia 2-1 in the same group. Attention now turns all the way back to Group A with Russia and Egypt meeting tonight.

^ apparently he did it running and not when celebrating England's late winner against Tunisia!

Was expecting 3 big victories by Portugal, Uruguay and Spain today but all 3 games have been close with only 1 goal in each game

Iran's Milad Mohammadi gave us the best moment of the World Cup so far, as with seconds to go in the match against Spain he completely failed with his attempt at the somersault throw-in. Surely this man will forever have a place in World Cup history.

The entire tournament has been close really. We've had 20 matches so far and only 4 where the teams were separated by more than 1 goal.

Russia 5-0 Saudi Arabia
Croatia 2-0 Nigeria
Belgium 3-0 Panama
Russia 3-1 Egypt
