RE: THE Cartoon/Animation thread (Discussion) - ukdoll - 19-05-2019 11:15 family. 2 parents and 2 kids and the mothers dad also lives with them. He's a scientist. RE: THE Cartoon/Animation thread (Discussion) - ukdoll - 19-05-2019 11:24 if you're not in to science, sci fi, multiverses and comedy then its probably not for you. RE: THE Cartoon/Animation thread (Discussion) - GMach1 - 19-05-2019 14:44 Ah now this looks like FUTURAMA, possibly made by the same people? A bit too modern for my taste but thanks for letting others know about it. Do you mean the animation style is too modern? or the humour? or the storylines? or some other reason? RE: THE Cartoon/Animation thread (Discussion) - GMach1 - 20-05-2019 17:21 Yes the eyes look odd, the pupils drawn too small - and I don't like that sense of humour. I am a traditionalist I prefer the stuff as it was, not as it is, but this thread can cater for ALL cartoon/animation types. Not a fan of American Dad, Family Guy or King of the Hill let alone Ren & Stimpy or even the new version of Looney Tunes. RE: THE Cartoon/Animation thread (Discussion) - rpj316 - 20-05-2019 17:29 I never liked Ren & Stimpy but King of the Hill and Family Guy are funny,as is Ric & Morty.Animaniacs had some great segments as well,I loved watching it on a Saturday morning.Pinky & the Brain were always worth a look.So was Chicken Boo.A big chicken that tried to pass itself off as a man. RE: THE Cartoon/Animation thread (Discussion) - GMach1 - 20-05-2019 18:08 Pinky and the Brain, Animaniacs and Looney Tunes Adventures were great cartoons, hilarious characters and very funny sketch-like cartoons. Narf!!! RE: THE Cartoon/Animation thread (Discussion) - GMach1 - 23-05-2019 16:28 Scooby Doo coming this weekend. I remember on the old analogue satellite watching or recording 'The Raccoons' and 'Defenders of the Earth' which was shown at weekends by the old UK Gold and the original 'Dangermouse' series on the old Children's Channel but I first saw it on ITV back in the 80's - David Jason was a genius, Terry Scott as Penfold was brilliant and the writing was first rate, a lot of the jokes may well have gone over our heads. My favourite gag was when a useless inventor(Irish) -wasn't exactly PC back then, called Egregious M Murphy tries to sell Dangermouse the latest spy gadgets and inevitably they go wrong. However Dangermouse says "Egregious M Murphy...what's the M for?" to which he replies "That sir, is a motorway running from London to South Wales-ask me another one Magnus!" RE: THE Cartoon/Animation thread (Discussion) - GMach1 - 23-05-2019 22:00 No I watched them to see if I liked them or not-I watched one episode of each and I didn't like any of them. I am a traditionalist, some people like that stuff, I am one those that don't. if you want to talk about them here feel free I'm not stopping you, nor should I, this thread is for everyone with an interest in all animation genres. |
