Unbe-Smegging-lievable!! I followed it on the BBC website live text and God that was tense beyond words. The crowd must have gone absolutely ballistic -Stokes dropped, lbw plumb according to someone on the website but not given and Australia couldn't review it, and Jack Leach not out for 0 what an amazing game that must have been. Well done England, a record breaking chase and some pride restored.

Boris Johnson can you hear me? Lord Stokes of Cumbria, perhaps? Sir Jack Leach of Somerset, for the most important not out 1 in English cricket history, maybe?

What a fantastic last hour or so, with an unbeaten last wicket stand of 76 of which Jack supplied 1.

Stokes was 2 off 50 balls overnight, remember! Incre-freakin' dible!

Let's not start that again!! Once was enough, and it started a trend of tarnishing the honours system with unworthy 'crowd pleasing' recipients!

Just incredible!! Possibly the greatest test innings ever played, and although Australia fed Stokes to often, his ingenuity was - hats off - right up there.

I personally thought Paine made a few too many captaincy mistakes (review was horrendous - how he couldn't tell the ball pitched way outside leg from his vantage point????) in making it far too easy for Stokes to farm the strike, but no detraction of what Ben did, and to do that twice - first in the most important match he will ever play in the WC final - and again today (yes I know what some will say.........but come on!!!) was outstanding!

Nathan Lyon will not make that mistake again for the rest of his career...…...I guarantee it!!

Very good point!! I hadn't even realised that with all that was going on!

They said on TMS that someone had changed the Wikipedia page for The Ashes to read “A test series between Ben Stokes & Australia” Bounce
