Interesting that. I don't mind the guy, still wouldn't vote SNP, but wouldn't hate him being in charge tbf.

Quote:The Glasgow Pollok MSP told the BBC: "To achieve independence we will use any means necessary that is within a legal framework, of course."

However, he also emphasised that his priority was to build solid support for independence, rather than fixating on "process".

Questioned about what would justify calling a snap election, Mr Yousaf said: "It would be about demonstrating that we have a consistent majority for independence. We don't have that at the moment.

"This week is a perfect example. We have seen one poll that puts support for independence below 50% and, literally a day later, support above 50% in another poll. We can't have that fluctuation."

Sounds reasonable enough, there is more important things to worry about other than independence right now, but obviously they still will be looking to make it happen at some point. Should always be a 60/40 thing, until the number gets to, or above 60% and stays there, then they shouldn't bother trying, the shit show that is Brexit is a perfect example of taking liberties with a split vote, 51.89% for something so important was completely unacceptable. It's funny though, if the numbers for independence were similar, or even better than that, say 52-53%, you just know the Tory scum would try and say that it wasn't enough, because it is how they work Rolleyes

I think the key to the secrecy lies in the last few paragraphs of the BBC piece, rather than any attempt at rigging.

I hope you're not crediting Beth Rigby with making Regan look an idiot.

Ash Regan doesn't need any help in that department Rolleyes

The Regan & Forbes campaign are upping the ante over the transparency row

The Regan campaign are saying if they do not receive a satisfactory response by 3pm tomorrow, Ash will hold a press conference on the matter outside parliament

The Forbes campaign released the following statement

The SNP have released their membership figures revealing that they have just over 72k down 32k from 2021.

The Times Scotland political correspondant Kenny Farquharson reckons there are 3 main reasons for this

1. Impatience with Indy strategy

2. Opposition to Gender Reform

3. Defections to The Alba Party

The BBC Scotland's Political Editor Glenn Campbell notes that 10k have left in the past few months which would certainly give weight to 1 & 2 given the Supreme Court decision & the passing of GRRB

Farqurharson reckons that those who remian are therefore likely to be Sturgeon loyalists, who aren't particularly exercised by the details of Indy strategy & social liberals who either support GRRB or don't but its not a red line for them

These factors all benefit one candidate, a continuity candidate.

Salmond on the radio last night really sticking the boot in now laugh

I honestly never thought it would get this messy. Independence has been set back years, if it ever recovers.

I have a mate who hates the SNP (or the Scottish Communist Party, as he calls them) with a vengeance. He's driving me nuts Rolleyes He's never off the phone, "did you see... what do you think... they're fucked... Bounce "

Big Laugh
