The champion from Tokyo struggled in qualification and will not defend her title. Jack Draper is out of the mens singles tennis after defeat to American Taylor Fritz. Nathan Hales has qualified for the final of the mens Trap shooting which gets underway soon. RE: Paris Olympiad 2024 - Snooks - 30-07-2024 14:11 Nathan Hales guaranteed a medal in the men's trap shooting. But what colour? RE: Paris Olympiad 2024 - lovebabes56 - 30-07-2024 14:12 We've always done well in shooting in recent games but I would say for the most part, without the Russians there, it's more lkely it's the Americans who we have to probably beat. RE: Paris Olympiad 2024 - HannahsPet - 30-07-2024 14:18 Yanks are shit at shooting RE: Paris Olympiad 2024 - Snooks - 30-07-2024 14:20 GOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDD for Nathan Hales. Fantastic. I understand your point but if it was in Germany for example then that would be totally different. RE: Paris Olympiad 2024 - Kingsmind - 30-07-2024 15:29 Got a question for you Snooks , since you know a lot about the Olympics. How comes some sports begin before the opening ceremony , i thought the opening ceremony was supposed to be before all the events begin. RE: Paris Olympiad 2024 - Tumble_Drier - 30-07-2024 15:32 ^Simple answer. Timescales. They can't fit all the preliminary rounds in within the 2 week period the games take place. RE: Paris Olympiad 2024 - lovebabes56 - 30-07-2024 15:41 I doubt we will ever see in our lifetime a more bite sized olympics. Though I have to sayI did encounter oposts on my time line on FB about why should football not be part of the Games. I don't think football became part of the Olympica until either after the war or in the 60's. I do think there are also thoughts on what sports shouldn't be in the Olympics, but I think there are sports that have been 'demostrated' in the programme and are never used again, I think it gives spectactors the chance to watch something different and IOC too.I'd love to see MMA put in the Olympics but I know it won'rt happen simply because of what fighters can earn.I often wonder if a team medal is worth more than an individual one and if Olympc medals are or have ever been sold at auction. I've never heard of any ever being auctioned. |
