RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 09-10-2017 15:02 Snapped up two good titles in a two for £20 offer at Granger Games. My Beautiful Launderette(1985) Stephen Frears' classic film gets the full works treatment for blu ray, although the film now does show it's age as we now in an age when gay cinema is happily thriving. Still worth for the brilliant performances and Oscar nominated dialogue. Extras : Making of documentary Short film Interviews Collectable booklet Also picked up Ronin(1998) I actually just bought this on DVD the other day but I like it so much I couldn't resist.Differences are a full 4k restoration which is a massive improvement. Extras : All the extras from the previously released DVD plus a new and excellent interview with cinematographer Robert Fraisse. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - *Kal-El* - 17-10-2017 22:56 I know it’s been out a while but was waiting for a price drop for Deadpool and I picked it up at Asda as part of two for a tenner blu ray am not sure if there still running that deal. The picture quality is stunning a fantastic transfer the colours look so deep and vibrant that they pop off the screen and the transfer is crystal clear I can imagine the 4K version being stunning. Sound quality you get a 7.1 DTS-HD transfer again is fantastic especially when it’s hooked up to a home cinema system the sound tracks of the movie really get enhanced. Extras wise you get a good amount: Deleted/Extended Scenes With Optional Commentary by Director Tim Miller Gag Reel From Comics to Screen. Audio Commentary By Ryan Reynolds & Screenwriters Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick Audio Commentary by Tim Miller & Deadpool Co-Creator/Comics Artist Rob Liefeld Gallery - Concept Art, Costumes, Storyboards, Pre-Vis, Stunt-Vis-Shipyard Deadpool’s Fun Sack Plus you get a Digital HD copy of the film. Not as beloved as John Landis' film but Joe Dante's foray into the genre has wonderful transformation scenes and harsh satire throughout.Nicely cleaned up for blu ray also. Extras : Commentary Documentary Featurettes Interviews RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 23-10-2017 11:33 One for horror fans that I highly recommend,Don't Torture A Duckling(1972) Snapped it up at HMV for £12. Directed by Lucio Fulci and regarded by the man himself as his favourite amongst classics such as Zombie Flesh Eaters(1979)and The Beyond(1981).The story follows the investigation into a series of child murders in southern Italy but despite the setting its challenging to view. The beautiful vistas blended with shocking violence all looking sharper thanks to full on restoration. Extras : Commentary Discussion Video essay Interviews Collectable booklet RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 26-10-2017 10:32 Highly recommend The Princess Bride(1987) : 30th Anniversary Edition I got my copy via mail order for £20. A wonderful restoration sound and picture wise and a great bundle of extras.Fantastic cast and made with such skill that it manages to be tongue in cheek but sincere simultaneously.eally nice to see this film re-released for another generation to enjoy. Extras : Audio commentary "As You Wish" The story of The Princess Bride Documentary On set videos Original trailers Galleries Original cinema poster RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 29-10-2017 13:54 For Mario Bava fans I have to recommend Kill,Baby...Kill!(1966) I bought it from a market in Leeds for £10. Despite a pretty lurid, grindhouse slasher esque title this really is one to see.Its actually a chilling tale set in the 19th century of a young girl haunting a Carpathian village.Wonderfully performed eerie thriller that's bold colours and excellent in camera effects look perfect on blu ray.
