Will be interesting to see how this develops.

Also I see Celtic are trialling safe standing area in green brigade area of ground using the rail seating system that is used in Germany

Yeah I saw that they had bee talking and a mate of mine told me it has been a subject of ongoing discussion for a few years, but I wonder if the Scottish national team will gain any benefits...

Well having listened to Radio Scotland on a Saturday for so many years I'm getting totally bored listening to all this summer football guff. My opinion is that it wouldn't work.

Every 2 years we either have the European Championships or the World Cup so that's one major obstacle for starters. Also footballers who play in the UK are in general not accustomed to be playing in the humidity of the summer temperatures. Scottish football is played at a fast pace and in the middle of a heat wave that would be near impossible.

Also the romantic and traditionalist in me likes going to the football when its cold, I very much enjoy taking my seat with my hot cup of bovril wearing my winter jacket, wooly hat, gloves and scarf Big Grin Also what about the traditional Boxing day and New Year fixture, it just wouldn't be the same with them.

My opinion, keep it as it is, why fix it if it ain't broken Big Grin

A heatwave in Scotland?Bounce its hard enough getting a few hot days in summer down here, although if i was Scottish i'd probably be against having football in summer tbh because some things shouldn't change

Darren Dods is new Brechin City manager

Mark Warburton looks set to be named new Rangers manager in next 24 hours with David Weir as his assistant. Let's hope he spends David Kings dough wisely

I do worry for future of Scottish football. No one seems to go to matches apart from rangers and Celtic fans. Hamilton academicals a premiership club, average less than 1000 supporters a game. There are vauxall conference clubs who average more than that.

Well seeing that we're at the time of the year where there is fuck all to talk about until the new season starts then I thought I'd give you a blast from the past to remind you all about just what a biased bluenose cunt that one time Mike McCurry was.

Craig Levein (Former Dundee Utd manager) lets it be known and clear in this infamous aftermatch interview from 2008 after the huns claimed a very rare victory over us Rolleyes

Just to strengthen his argument here is some footage from Mike McCurry leading his true biased form of worship Rolleyes

The scottish fixtures are out on Friday are they?

RE: Scottish Football - Scottishbloke - 17-06-2015 17:59

Yes they are indeed. I don't want to put a jinx on this but 2 opening day fixtures that I would gladly avoid would be Celtic or Hearts away as both teams will open the new season at home due to the tradition of unfurling the title winners flag.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that Rangers have a new manager in the name of Mark Warburton who I actually think will go on and do a decent job for them. Unlike last season in the Championship I expect it to be a lot closer and I think the head to head games between Rangers and Hibs will have a massive bearing on the eventual winners.

My prediction for the Championship is that it'll be a 2 horse race. The gulf between Hbs and Rangers I think will set them apart from the rest. If I was pushed into giving an answer as the eventual winners I would probably put my money on Rangers if I'm being honest with Hibs a very close 2nd. I think Rangers will be a far more organised squad this season and having checked Mark Warburtons record its not bad.
