A really enjoyable La Femme Nikita styke effort from Jung Byung-gil starring Kim Ok-bin as vengeful assassin doing the South Korean National Intelligence's dirty work in order to earn her freedom.The opening sequence boasts the best fight scene of the year. Honouring the camp spirit of the 1960s comics and TV show with brilliant voice work from Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar all reprising their respective roles alongside Bill Shatner as Harvey Dent.A ridiculous plot is put out of mind due to how much fun it all is. The depth and richness of colour is amazing to look at and the sound crystal clear, there are no extras on the 4k version but it comes with a blu ray copy and there are plenty on there. The 4k version comes with a blu ray copy and digital download plus there are plenty of extras on both discs. I haven't watched it yet, but I've heard the PQ is excellent. The Apartment(1960) One of the funniest and best romcoms ever made by director Billy Wilder.With touching performances from Jack Lemon and Shirley MacLaine. Extras : Commentaries Interviews Featurettes Video essay Book The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes(1970) Another one from director Billy Wilder,often regarded by fans as his most sumptuous but underated effort. Extras : Deleted scenes Interview by Neil Sinyard Interview with Christopher Lee Interview with editor Ernest Walter Essay Collectable booklet Carrie(1976) Although I like the 2013 version with Chloe Grace Moretz,the original for me is a far more potent adaptation of King's novel.Under Brian De Palma's direction Sissy Spacek delivers a truly heartbreaking performance. Extras : Commentary Featurettes Alternate title sequence Gallery RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 09-02-2018 22:20 Highly recommend the classic from Raymond Briggs,When The Wind Blows(1986) Picked it up from Sainsbury's for £15 A heartbreaking tale following Jim and Hilda(based on Brigg's parents)as they use the advice from official government leaflets following the outbreak of a nuclear war.Beautifully animated and directed by Jimmy Murakami with wonderful voice work from John Mills and Peggy Ashcroft all backed up with an emotive score from Roger Walters and a memorable title song by David Bowie.
