Yeah that'll probs end up being another Dan Hardy type outcome where he'll gets controlled for 3 rounds by Woodley.Hope not though, hope Daley stops him.

Looks like I may have been right.

RE: UFC - groundnpound - 10-07-2011 12:56

Two sides to this for Condit.Fight before the end of the year and win, cementing his shot at the belt or Fight before the end of the year and lose, handing the shot to someone else.

Like he said its a big decision for him and his team.

It depends on who he'd fight i suppose?Like i said earlier the ww division's wide open. There's one fight that stands out like a sore thumb for the UFC to test Condit with.Thiago Alves.

I think Thiago Alves is a better fighter than Condit.Would a guy like Condit have beaten the guys who've beat Alves?GSP,Fitch and Story?3 wrestlers. For me no.

So the fact that Condit has put 4 on the spin together puts him ahead of Alves in the pecking order but put him in with the likes of John Fitch next and i think he'd lose.Meaning an exciting fighter like Condit would be pushed out of the picture by a bore like Fitch!!!! It's a tricky one. bladewave

I say offer him Alves before 2012 and see if he takes it.It's an exciting fight where the winner would put himself in a really good posistion especially if the winner is Carlos Condit.

RE: UFC - groundnpound - 10-07-2011 18:01

Just off the top of my head i'd say fight of the year so far has been Jose Aldo vs Mark Hominik.KO of the year so far i'd say Travis Browne's superman punch to finish Stefan Struve and my sub of the year so far would be probs be Ortiz on Bader for the surprise factor.

It looks like poor old Jonny Fitch has been left out in the cold again with Carlos Condit v BJ set for October probably as the title eliminator co-main event on the UFC 137 GSP v Diaz card.

The New Years Day show I said looks like a big possibility after all. Smile

I don't know who'll win the fights but a January 1st card of GSP v Condit & Diaz v BJ would make two great fights.

RE: UFC - groundnpound - 13-07-2011 01:26

So they've went for BJ Penn Mitchell lad...Fair play.

Gotta say,i fancy Penn for this (He'll be desperate for 1 last shot at GSP) and we know Georges is beating Diaz Wink

So if you're right about the new year show then GSP vs Penn 3 will do for me.

RE: UFC - groundnpound - 13-07-2011 14:29

Phil Davis is out of 133 Main Event against Rashad Evans due to injury. Rolleyes The UFC offered Tito Ortiz the fight but he turned it down. bladewave

He said "I have a life and things to take care of,The fight game is about making the right choices of my career. If you knew what I have been going through you all would understand.

"Peaking for a fight is what makes a fighter unstoppable. Timing is everything in life. This is a rebuild year for me not do or die. The time will come again."

The word is Lyoto Machida or Shogun Rua will take the fight. If it's Rua then Machida would fight Forrest Griffin at 134 in Brazil.

RE: UFC - TDK2008 - 13-07-2011 15:18

I've read elsewhere it's going to be Lyoto Machida. Bad news for Rashad Evans as it would be a fight against the only person he's ever lost to in the shape of Machida unless Evans can avenge that loss. I fancy Machida to do it again and face the winner of Jones/Rampage.
