What I meant was that It's not a good time for any club to sack a manager but I guess Sunderland were left with very little choice.

So they've appointed Dick Advocaat
As a guy said on the radio. He hasn't a snowflake ball of a chance of staying up

Wonder if the top brass at Sky TV have seen this week's results in Europe and are wondering why the fuck they offered so much money for such a mediocre league....
Think this is the first season for 20 years without an English team in the last 8 of any European cup competition
RE: Football Banter - HannahsPet - 19-03-2015 20:53
least they last longer than scottish teams

Thats not surprising really considering the winner of the SPL get 2 million tv money, while relegated English teams get 99 million...
At least my team was the first British team to win the European Cup...
These days English clubs try to win the cup by signing all the dregs that the top European clubs cast off, and pay them silly money... #Fail

Sky are paying for viewing figures though, not quality. They won't mind if the league is mediocre or not.
It's BT who would be concerned, because it's them who paid big money for the Champions League rights.

One season doesn't mean much and we had plenty of teams in the last 16
Lets face it most of the English teams do not have many English players in them these days anyway. Agree they paid way too much for the tv rights though. What always pisses me off is that some little 19 year old scrote, still wet behind the ears who can simply run fast with a bag of leather earns more in a week than I will in a year
