RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 06-07-2018 13:21 Picked up The Darkest Hour(2018)from Sainsbury's for £12. Worth it alone for Gary Oldman's performance as Winston Churchill. Extras : Digital copy Commentary from Joe Wright Into Darkest Hour Gary Oldman : becoming Churchill RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 09-07-2018 11:19 I recommend 12 Strong(2018) I picked it up at market in Leeds for £8. Based on the book Horse Soldiers by Doug Stanton which was inspired by the real life events that took place after 9/11 in which a U.S Special Forces team where sent into Afghanistan to convince a Northern Alliance General to unite with them in order to fight the Taliban.A strong cast including Chris Hemsworth and Michael Shannon help it along and the realistic combat scenes look fantastic in full 1080 HD. Extras : Making of Featurette RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 14-07-2018 12:44 Three Billboards Outside Ebbing,Missouri(2017) Got this from a little second hand shop for £5 Great acting from two of the best in the business(Frances McDormand,Woody Harrelson)in this black humour drama. Extras : Digital download Deleted scenes Making of Six Shooter(short film) Stills gallery RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - Rammyrascal - 17-07-2018 21:43 Tomb Raider (2018) HMV exclusive steelbook Comes in a really nice steelbook Get 3 versions of the film (3D Blu-ray, 2D Blu-Ray & a digital copy) plus a good amount of extras including Lara Croft: The Evolution Of An Icon Croft Training Tomb Raider Uncovered Breaking Down The Rapids RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - *Kal-El* - 01-08-2018 20:54 Back To The Future VHS Blu Ray Range - HMV Exclusive HMV have done a set of 12 VHS Blu Rays, the casing and inside looks like a VHS cassette even right down to the size, technically it’s its 11 now there was a spelling mistake on Scarface packaging so it was recalled from the HMV stores but it ordered it online you still got it all tho HMV are offering refunds. As am a massive Back To The Future had to pick this up even with the many different versions I already own lol. You have the classic poster image at the front and the back looks exactly like VHS right down to the display. The box slides out looking video tape leaving the art work like a slip cover. The images below will show the front, back and inside and extra goodies you get inside. Not reviewing the disc again as it’s the same and so are the extras: “Tales from the future” Documentary The Making of Back To The Future Michael J Fox Q&A Behind the scenes including Outtakes & Deleted Scenes Setups & Payoffs Storyboard Comparison Trivia Pack With this version no digital you’ll have to either get the individual films for it or the 30th Anniversary Trilogy. It comes with two discs one the blu ray and the other a normal dvd. Also you get a poster, bubble gum with a scene from film and sticker with a image from film. There other films in VHS Blu Ray Range 80’s films for example 48 hours, The Thing, The Breakfast Club, Beverly Hills Cop and many more £14.99 or two for £25. I actually did a unboxing of it on YouTube. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 01-08-2018 21:37 ^ Awesome I just bought E.T and 48 Hours from the VHS range.target.com did this a while ago with season one of Stranger Things. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - *Kal-El* - 06-08-2018 14:09 Ready Player One Picked up the blu ray steel book version of it which is available every where at the same price and it’s not a store exclusive. You get decent art work on the front and back and inside but I would have preferred the poster art work from the film all tho it has a nice 80’s computer game look to it, plus it would have been nice if it had a gloss finish to it Picture quality is stunning as always a 1080p transfer, no grain or loss of detail, the colours look deep and rich and pop off the screen. The Audio quality is amazing with DTS-HD transfer to get the best out of it have it hooked up to a home cinema system because not only is it loud but with explosions you really hear it Extras The 80’s You’re The Inspiration Game Changer: Cracking The Code Effects For A Brave New World Level Up: Sound For The Future High Score: Endgame Ernie & Tye’s Excellent Adventure You get two versions of the film on two separate days discs, the 2D on one disc and the 3D on one day disc plus you get a digital copy. Price of the steel book £24.99. If you buy the normal blu ray in Sainsbury’s you get a free copy of the book.
