My 2 favourite fighters: Rashad & Machida, so I'd love to see them fight again. Especially if Machida unleashes the Karate Kid 'crane kick' like he did vs. Couture.

He said "I have a life and things to take care of,The fight game is about making the right choices of my career. If you knew what I have been going through you all would understand.

"Peaking for a fight is what makes a fighter unstoppable. Timing is everything in life. This is a rebuild year for me not do or die. The time will come again."

I can understand where Tito's coming from but I'm sticking to my guns & still saying he won't be around the UFC at the end of next year.

They should offer the fight to Ryan Bader if Tito won't take it, I know he lost to Jon Jones which is no shame but the Tito loss was a little slip at the wrong time so if they have any faith in Bader they should put him in with Rashad Evans, if it was Evans who lost two on the spin he'd still get the fight so why should it be different for an up & coming fighter like Bader who two fights ago was one win away from a shot at the title.

The UFC should grow some balls & start putting propper fights together instead of going on name & past reputation, i.e. Tito Ortiz & Chael Sonnen!!!

It seems I wont be getting a Lyoto/Rashad rematch after all; Machida has apparently rejected the chance to face Evans too.

Welcome to the thread Robot Devil! SmileyCentral.com Your spot on mate looks like Machida's turned the fight down. Not enough time to prepare.

The latest name put up is Antônio Rogério Nogueira who's supposed to fight Franklin on the same card.Still think Shogun will step in though....I'm in the Bader camp aswell. He was a superstar in the making until he lost to Bones and he f**cked up against Ortiz but he'll still be fighting fit and fresh to fight in 3 weeks time.

Noticed on wiki that Rashad's been taken off the card completely. bladewave

Really can't see Shogun getting removed from the UFC card in Brazil, he'll want to fight in his home country. Rich Franklin could fight Rashad Evans but problem is, it leaves Little Nog without an opponent. The whole thing's a mess. UFC needs a credible main event for this show.

Ortiz should've taken the fight. The UFC gave him the chance to resurrect his career by handing him the Bader fight. He was in the octagon for 2 mins at 132.Surely he should have said ok great, i'll repay the faith and take the shot against one of the biggest names in the sport Rashad Evans.

For one,he'd have been doing the UFC a favour by stepping up and saving the show and they'd probs have said look even if you lose you'll still be a UFC fighter. So he wouldn't have to worry about going in and losing his career in a short notice fight.

He drew with Evans in 2007 after being docked a point for holding the cage. He's let a big chance slip through his fingers for me.

That's more like it TITO!!!! He must've read my post lads.Or maybe Jenna just asked him nicely Rolleyes

RE: UFC - TDK2008 - 14-07-2011 04:57

Evans vs. Ortiz 2. Not an Ortiz fan but I liked how he beat Ryan Bader to save his job. I’d like Ortiz to win again. What a stretch that would be for him.

Dana White on UFC133

"Machida accepted the fight,We knew for a couple days this was going down, and Machida accepted the fight. Then when we called back and said, 'OK, we're going to make this fight,' Machida's people came back and said, 'We'll tell you what. You pay us what you pay Anderson Silva, and we'll take the fight.' This was after they had already agreed to take the fight.

"I said, 'Are you f***ing kidding me? I'll tell you what. You tell Machida he achieves what Anderson Silva has achieved, then maybe he'll make Anderson Silva money. Have a nice day.'"

According to White, Machida's camp made it clear there was no fear or concern in the matchup. Instead, their strategy all came down to financial promises.

"They said, 'Machida will fly out there tomorrow if you pay him what you pay Anderson Silva,They said they would do the deal, then I call back to make it and that's what they said."

White admitted he was frustrated at the surprising turn of events. With many top light heavyweights currently booked for high-profile fights, the UFC appeared to have few options for the UFC 133 main event, but Ortiz re-entered the picture shortly after declining the fight.

"Tito turned it down, and then Tito called back and said, 'Did you get the fight yet? I said, 'Nope.' He goes, 'Let me think about it. Let me talk to my team, and I'll call you back tomorrow.' This was Tuesday night."

"I think it's a big fight for Tito," I think he's got a lot of momentum after winning that last fight. Evans was in line for a shot. Tito is now fighting a guy he went to a draw with and who hasn't fought in a year-and-a-half."

And while White openly admitted prior to Ortiz's UFC 132 contest that a loss would mean his release from the UFC, the UFC boss said that will not be the case at UFC 133. In fact, not only is Ortiz's career not on the line – he may actually find himself in title-shot discussions should he upset Evans.

"Damn right, he gets a break,Tito stepped up to the plate. It's f***ing weird here. It's like I'm dealing with a new person. I like it. I like the new Tito.

"The storyline is what's so interesting. Tito went from 'You're about to be cut,' to now, if he beats Rashad Evans, he's back in the mix. He's back in the picture."

White said a timetable for Davis' return has yet to be confirmed, but the injuries that forced him out of the bout were not serious.
