Anyone else noticed that the experimental promotional period seems to be well and truly over for 66's studiocams this week?
A lot of the more established babes have stopped running the laptop feed whilst they're on TV or at least cut right back on the duration they have it on for during their shifts.
My guess would be that after more than a month of hyping their use by requesting all the day girls use them (and maybe even offering bonuses for their use to the girls that did) that has now stopped and it is now generally up to the girls how and when they want to use the studiocams.
The drop off in their use has also coincided with a drop-off in them being used in the more 'raunchy' angles previously offered from what I can see as well.
Is the current level of usage by the babes, and therefore the take up in their use by the customers, about what was expected by 66 following last month's 'honeymoon period' I wonder? Has this experiment been judged a success or does the drop-off indicate a partial failure (the service is still happening occasionally so can't be all bad I suppose).
I am a big fan of the studiocams; it is, for 66, something of an innovation. It has been refreshing to see it used to heighten the visual eroticism offered by the day babes (something that has become almost a dirty word for the daytime style in the Ofcom era)... That is when they are used correctly. As with all things in the babe world they can be used half-heartedly and their effectiveness mitigated.... But its lack of airtime this week has been most disheartening to me.
Why do these technological innovations often seem to falter when used in the babeshows? Are we such a conservative bunch in our usage of new formats and platforms in this fandom? Is there a resistance from within the industry that scuppers these new ideas for one reason or another?
Anyway, I thought it might be interesting to outline some possible reasons for a downturn like this (if that is indeed what has happened - after the good start this one seemed to get off to):
1. The novelty value of the 'innovation' wares off and the customer take-up drops making it less worthwhile providing on an 'across the board' basis.
2. Resistance from the girls mounts as they realise they are having to work harder to please more punters and cope with two lots of technology at once.
3. The additional customers/revenue the new technology brings in is outweighed by unexpected detrimental knock-on effects on other parts of the channel's business. (For example: Too many punters who would have called Lucy-Anne on her tease hour fail to do so because they got off quicker to her earlier in the day on the studiocam feed! Or a reduction in other webcam turnover is blamed on the studiocams and causes complaints from the girls that rely on them more for their income.)
I think it'll be interesting to see if we can really glean what is going on with the studiocams atm. Most of all though I hope that this is not a sign their use is on the way out at 66.
Such a move would be mightily short-sighted as far as I'm concerned. If the babe channels have a future it surely lies down an internet cable in one form or another (and presumably in multiple simultaneous streams like this).

I mentioned the latest behaviour of Mr.floppy in Stacey's thread.
He does call her. Unless, that is, she has another regular called 'Nigel'.
When he started this heavy tipping/stalking approach to virtually any girl who happens to be on webcam (Lana was not falling for his speel) he claimed to have a business and was using company money to finance his 'passion' (just requires a sympathetic accountant)
So hardly likely to be a staffer since both his and his muse's behaviour would be counter-productive.
As for the general matter with the 'always on' webcam there are, I think, three issues. Some of the girls will not perform on the 'open' sets because there are too many people around. So it has to be in one or other of the closed 'bedroom' sets. Lucy-Anne was in an open set yesterday so was not interested.
The second is the mechanics of feeding the stream to the server. It only seems to work well when there is a wired connection back to control. Wirelessly and the connection breaks up.
The third is the availability. Guys want the girls to go private but they are already on the phone. Once they are free, that guy might have given up. Also, the girl has gone private but still on the phone so is practically ignoring that guy who has followed her in (paying for nothing)
Anastasia took some time out a week ago to explain how it should work. Trouble is that not all producers or girls follow that approach. So it breeds frustration all around.
Maybe better to go back to fixed-slot cam shows but the whole attraction of the always on is that not all punters can be around at the fixed times. No easy solution.

Its the thing about paying 3 quid a minute (or more) for maybe a frisky angle, or nothing.. Some I've seen have been in private, and not on normal feed, so 'possibly' doing a show.. and if u log in behind paywall, they are on a break..
Or some folks reckon they get ignored if its a sideview.. theyre trying to chat, perhaps, and not getting feedback.
I think some on the phone went into private, which may/may not have made things interesting, as I think there were limits to what the girl could say/do whilst on the phone even if the caller was on webcam with her..
Still.... another opportunity for folks to scam money off paypigs...

You are spot on about Lucy-Anne yesterday from what I saw. I never clicked that it was the non-closed set that was causing it. That makes perfect sense. Thanks.
Your list proffers some very likely reasons why this studiocam thing might well not have performed as well as it might. There are always going to be logistical problems with running two things at once however. I'm not sure if the reasons you give would be enough to cause such a system to fail financially.
As you say there is obviously some learning curve to be steered by some of the babes in how best to use the system. I hope they can get to grips with the points you mention and provide more sessions again down the line.
The whole babe show industry is based on making multiple lots of money out of a single conversation in front of a camera. 66's studiocams merely adds more access to that conversation in order to make more revenue. Surely any problems resulting from that should therefore be made surmountable.

Yep like all webcamming it's definitely 'buyer beware'. (Leaving your cam on whilst on a break may seem a convenient and money-spinning idea but a babe with any sense will know it will harm her camming reputation and, possibly, her ability to earn money in the future.)
Trouble is do we want to stop these feeds from happening because they offer the opportunity to scam? I'd rather let the consumer choose where to put his money every time.
