That is just the justifiable smoke screen to carry on censoring explicit sex on UK tv. One of their senior figures, not that long ago in a newspaper interview, said that R18 was "inappropriate". No mention of protecting kids; none at all. They don't want it but there's nothing we can do about it as they must be being supported by central govt. RE: Ofcom Discussion - eccles - 13-02-2012 22:39 Ofcom talk about a gradual transition after the watershed but really are guilty of confused thinking. The News and documentaries can show mutilated corpses from the latest tragedy a few minutes after 9pm, Channel 4 can show topless pole dancers in a documentary within seconds of 9pm, action adventure movies and the occasional gruesome horror movie are generally clear from 10pm. South Park liberally uses phrases like Motherf**ker shortly after 9pm as well as making endless antisemitic jokes. The film Antichrist featured full penetration in the opening minutes and was shown, repeatedly, at 10pm. Dexter glamourises serial killing and vigilante action. Also the police work shown sometimes features gory body parts. It is shown at 10. The Walking Dead (also 10pm) features animated corposes. So, broadly speaking, the supposed clear dividing line is more of a smudge extending from 9 to 10pm, which is bad news for shift workers who are efectively denied an adult life, but after 10 anything goes. Except adult content. For adult content there is 3 hour transition, up to midnight. Apart from adverts for subscription sex channels. They can show breasts, mild lesbianism, knickers, non explicit copulation in trailers before 10pm because they are adverts. Its not even clear before 9pm. Ofcom has an expectation that younger children go to bed from 6pm on, so content at 8 or 9pm can be teen friendly and a little raunchy, but unsuitable for 10 year olds. Unless its enjoyable, like Christina Aguilera on XFactor, in which case content can be inside the guidelines for prewatershed content, and still get the channel into trouble. The original idea from early BBC and ITV days was that the watershed was a sharp dividing line with hard hitting news and controversail plays starting on the dot of 9. These days there is a transition lasting between 30 seconds and 3 hours and it seems Ofcom recognises different grades of 18, unlike the BBCF and Tescos. RE: Ofcom Discussion - cherriilover - 14-02-2012 15:37 what so channel 4 can open leg no other channel can itwa caled enbrassing bodies they up close of women vagina RE: Ofcom Discussion - Scottishbloke - 14-02-2012 23:21 I think one of the problems we have with Ofcom is that SKY TV themselves are partly to blame for the censorship shambles that we now find outselves in. Why well first of all a total lack of European Channels other than TV5 MONDE which eccles has allready highlighted is more or less focussed on such things such as a group of pissed off French farmers, hardly erotic now is it and also to broadcast on the Eurobird 28.2 degree satelite which nobody else in Europe uses apart from us and Ireland or broadcasts from as they use either Astra 1 at 19.2 degree's or Hotbird at 13 degree's. This is turn makes it so much easier for Ofcom to rule with an Iron stick. If we used the same 19.2 satelite that SKY used to broadcast from prior to going digital in 1998 it would just make Ofcom regulation very difficult and they'd have to accept defeat and instead do exactly what there predecessors the ITC (Please come back all is forgiven) done and simply turn a blind eye to the rest of the channels apart from the mainstream ones, but in saying that the ITC compared to Ofcom were fair, only coming down hard on any channel that didn't obey the watershed rules. Most notably TFI Friday on Channel 4 when it used to go out live on channel 4 at 6PM. Oh how society and censorship has gotten worse in the last 10 years from the liberal 90's to the victorian 2000's. Oh how society and censorship has gotten worse in the last 10 years from the liberal 90's to the victorian 2000's. Hello again i have had so much trouble getting onto the forum that i had multiple accounts and got permanently banned..I dont know what happened but one day i could not log in so tried everything ,then reapplied but no success..I am hatesexistofcom but had to choose another name...I have been very active with many emails to ofcom/channel4 etc..They say all the time about protecting young kids but apparently adult male penises dont count..I have argued and sworn at ofcom but any channel show a fanny lip and its 10-20k fine or licencse revoked yet penises can be shown anytime = pure sexist attitude..My biggest argument was my daughter teenage naturist which i blasted ch4 and offcom and ofcom outcome on the fortnite bulletin was gender discrmination/offence..I am going higher to complain against ofcom...Party paramedics had lads flopping their penises yet when a lass came into the ambulance as she opened her legs it was quickly filmed from behind ,i can see right thru it the film vaginas from behind or cut it out of the film so you never knew fannys would be there in first place or heavily pixellated out..I have seen erections and penises pixellated out but because they move you can see thru the pixels but if that happened and you saw a fanny the channel would be shut down Its one extreme to the other penises fine yet you show one fanny lip and your dead meat..I will never give up and cant remember if i said last time i was so irate the doc gave me short course of diazepam.I hate ofcom more than anything else on the planet and ed richards gets paid £400,000 grand to tell me i cannot see a real normal vagina on tv,ie non pornyet women can see real life penises is sick. RE: Ofcom Discussion - fedup1 - 24-02-2012 22:50 I also emailed complaints to ch 4 and ofcom about Channel E4 "Worlds greatest bodyshockers",,its on tonight so to late to say it might be the episode i complained about...In this show is the worlds biggest penis but it shows him playing with it and swinging it round again and again and again plus lots of piereced penises..However their is a pierced vagina in the show fully blurred out..So they show all this penis in video action yet one photograph of piereced vagina gets blurred out..After some time to stop myself shaking with anger i made a real complaint saying what the god damn hell you playing at you sexist c++nts etc and demanded an explanation.. I ALSO ASKED WHY THE WORLDS LARGEST LABIA OR CLITORIS WERE NOT SHOWN? iIt was a programme about extremes and you showed biggest penis why did your crew not do their job and include females in the show...In other words E4 you did what every other channel does and suck ofcoms gonads and turn it into a penis show..Arghh so mad that this goes on and prickhead ed richards gets a huge fee to live in comfort dictating what i can see on my tv and i am taking feckin diazepam.Women can see a penis in real life on men in normal life b ujt we have to put up with a blur.. RE: Ofcom Discussion - fedup1 - 03-03-2012 22:58 Freeview channal 20 called Reality has just shown "My penis and i"..It has been on channel 4 and is about a man and his small penis, its full of reall mens penises full and close up..This is real life NOT PORN. Anyhow what got me was the inclusion of photos of his genatalia when he was young just like "DADDY CARE"screened on channel 4 these past few weeks has done..So this sick fucks are resorting to kiddie porn now in this world of indecent images and peadeophilia..I have done usual complaints and want to see ofcoms outcome but have wrote to my MP on this sick matter..So this year ive seen over 200 real not porn penises on freeview tv and not one vagina..Ed richards is looking decidely turning to child pornographic images to irritate us ,ha well no comment on these forums. I think the situation fits nicely into my theory that Ofcon have a pathological fear of the UK's male heterosexual population becoming out of control in relation to porn usage. They are not too worried about gay porn as this is a minority pastime. Hetro porn, on the other hand, is another matter. Needs to be controlled, see. Well done for continually fighting the cause, sir. |
