I love the design, it's almost like looking at a real video tape! They're so well done. I got Airplane, Beverly Hills Cop, The Blues Brothers & The Warriors. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 25-08-2018 12:44 I highly recommend The Addiction(1995) I bought it from Morrison's for £15. A black and white vampire movie directed by Abel Ferrara adapted from a screenplay from long time collaborator Nicholas St.John.Lili Taylor is superb as student Kathleen, bitten by a "creature of the night" who is then forced to come to terms with her existence. It blends pulp and philosophy together and riffs on drug addiction, fear of Aids whilst referencing Sartre,Heidegger and Nietzsche. It then shocks with jolts of violence and some incredibly chilling scenes.Christopher Walken is particularly evil in a cameo appearance as an ancient Dracula type character that's probably scarier than any other that's been put on film.It all looks stunningly unnerving in 4K. First of all it’s a fantastic looking steel book the poster art work on the front looks great. The title is debossed and goes well with the gold trim and very funny film too. Picture quality as always 1080p transfer and it looks amazing a massive improvement over the dvd version and is presented in 2.35:1 widescreen. The sound quality is 7.1 Dolby TrueHD and via a home cinema system the sound is fantastic. Extras Commentary By Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman Panel Chelov’s Screen Moments HD The Three-Picture Saga HD Star Trek For A Cause HD Starfleet Academy: The Whole Probe HD Blu-Ray Exclusives Plus Ovee 2 More Hours of Additional Special Features No digital copy which is shame, would have been great if the steel book had a gloss finish. Added bonus I picked this second hand for £4 looks brand new. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 31-08-2018 13:24 If you like Paul Verhoeven films you can't go wrong with Flesh + Blood(1985) I bought it from Sainsbury's for £12. An epic medieval tale that contains the Dutch directors usual themes of sex and violence as a kidnapped wonan(betrothed to nobility)uses sexual manipulation and mutual attraction to gain the trust of her captor's leader.Fully uncut with top performances from Rutger Hauer and Jennifer Jason Leigh.Looks wonderful in 4k and comes presented in a slipcase along with the DVD version. This film is fantastic not only full of action and funny too. The picture and sound quality big improvement over the dvd version so worth the upgrade. The only extras you get are a theatrical trailers and that’s it would have loved to seen a making of this great movie and no digital copy. The bonus was picked it brand new for a pound, highly recommend this movie. RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 16-09-2018 12:40 For animé fans,I recommend Mary and the Witch's Flower(2018). I picked up the steelbook from a market in Willoughby for £10. Based on a British book, this full length feature from Studio Ponoc is as charming as any Ghibli effort as we follow Mary's adventures as she trains at a witching college meeting all kinds of unique characters along the way.
