Just seen Toni Duggan's goal for Man City Ladies against Arsenal Ladies.
What a strike.
Worth a watch.

Next Saturday clash between West ham and Leicester will be a top of the table clash. Who would have thought that before the season started.!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see Westham have decided to get a play safe low risk player in the form of joey Barton. I'm sure he will fit in seamlessly since he has such a great record of getting on with people!!!!!

^ A load of clubs played varyingly weakened sides so I am not really surprised. The league is seen as a bigger priority especially by Championship clubs striving for promotion to the riches of the Premier League.
There are early higher ranked casualties every year in the opening rounds.

I always think if a tournament is worth staging it should be worth winning.
If i had my way the winner of the league cup would get 4th champions league spot and the winner of the FA cup would get third.
Or give the equivalent prize money. Winning a compeition should have priority over finishing fourth or premier league survival. However money talks. You get about 7m for winning the FA cup you get aboutt 60m for getting or staying in the premier league and an estimated further 50m for getting in the champions league.
With that in mind you can't blame clubs for putting out reserve/ youth teams in the cup competitions.

About the cup competitions one thing Germany does good is if the bundesliga clubs are meeting teams from second division it's always set so that all top teams are playing away which I think could be good in England, just makes the second tier league team be a lil more up for it

Problem is that the smaller clubs like away games because they get a lot more money going to big clubs and getting bigger share of gate receipts
a decent cup run can mean a lot of money for lower league teams

Good point

I think for the FA cup the home club get 150k tv revenue in a live televised tie.
For none league and semi pro outfits that is huge. For the big clubs that's just chicken feed. Does not even pay Wayne Rooney a week's wages.
Westham have decided to not sign Barton. The fans said they already have Nolan and he is one scouser to many!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joking aside I think Barton was supposed to replace Nolan but as good a footballer as Barton is, decided he would be to much of a cancer in the dressing room. By all accounts Nolan is as good for the dressing room as Barton is an irritant.
