Here's a scenario for you to think about and I'm not saying terry would or wouldn't ferdinand would or wouldn't - it's just an intersesting thought.

World cup semi-final England v Brazil. England lead 1-0 with a minute to go. Kaka is through on goal with one defender chasing him down, say thirty/forty yards to go. The defender knows he can't catch him but might be able to bring him down resulting in the inevitable sending off but only a free-kick thirty yards out standing between england and a world cup final - who'd take the sending off and suspension for the team's benefit. I know for a fact that Italy, argentina, germany would have kaka eating grass no matter what the consequence.

It's a no-brainer........JT's already done it, against Man City last season and got himself sent off. Plus he's done it a couple of times since and gotten away with it. The team comes first in his eyes, no doubt. Dunno about Ferdinand, he's never really been in that position so it would be unfair to judge him, though it might have been a decision for him if he had gotten anywhere near Craig Bellamy in the derby game a few months ago.....laugh

Ferdinand has done this. In the game that Man Utd stopped Arsenal going 50 unbeaten in 2004. He pulled an Arsenal player down but fortunately for him he went unpunished. It wasn't even called a foul.

Buildup? Is the World Cup later this month then? I thought it was being held in the summer.

I would say that in the eyes of the newspapers then the 'buildup' starts as soon as england qualify and certainly as soon as the draw is made. In their eyes, and who are we to question them, we only have to turn up to get to the second round.

I have another scenario for you all to think about. It's june 2010, england are, for example, in the quarter finals. Your wife/partner/girlfriend/right or left hand is away for the weekend. You are in a club. When of all things cheryl cole/abby clancy/any of the others comes up to you and says 'look i'm bored shitless by football really what I need is a good shag, come on!"

do you
a) go (ashley etc will never find out or find you and your girlfriend will never find out either)
b) say i can't you know they're like brothers to me and it might bring bad luck for the game
c) say i must go to the doctor about these recurring dreams.
d) say my girlfriends back on monday she likes threesomes.

The correct answer is c).

It would have to be a dream as Capello has banned the wags from the World Cup, so the other answers are all impossible.

He didnt neccessarily say the club was in South Africa, it could be back in Britain...

SO DONT KILL THE DREAM

If it was Wayne Bridge's ex, the answer would be A, purely out of spite Big Grin
