Ng On-Yee became the first woman to beat a top 10 player in a ranking tournament when she won her frame against World no.9, and former shootout champion, Mark Allen.

England's no.1 female under 21 player, Ellise Scott, was given a wildcard entry to the shootout and she almost knocked out Bai Yulu. With under a minute to go, Ellise led 26-24, then she committed a foul overreaching for a shot and Bai closed out the frame.

Wu Yize made a 141 total clearance in his frame to knock out Craig Steadman.

Another fantastic victory for Ng On-Yee as she put out highly rated Irishman Aaron Hill. She led 51-0 with about 2 minutes to go but Aaron Hill looked like he might snatch it when he made a break of 45, but missed the last red when he had time to pot the blue followed by the yellow to claim victory. Sadly Bai Yulu lost.

Luca beat Tubbs Smile Smile Smile

Good day for Belgium all round as Ben Mertens and Julien LeClercq also won.

Bulcsu Revesz reached the last 32 for the first time as he beat Liam Davies. Jackson Page came back from 29-1 down to beat Michael Holt with a 47 break.

So many players left in who desperately need the ranking points. The argument as to whether it should be a ranking tournament is irrelevant now. The incentive to win is huge for a lot of the contenders remaining.

I think it's great if the also-rans, for want of a nicer term, can wangle the odds and bump up their tallies a bit here.

On-Yee's dream run is over as she lost to Stan Moody. Luca lost to Fan Zhengyi, LeClercq lost to Yuan Sijun. Ben Mertens and Jackson Page both won as did reigning champion Tom Ford. Ford plays Stuart Bingham in the last 16.

Bulscu Revesz lost to amateur wildcard Kaylan Patel. Alfie Burden is putting together a good run and he beat Gary Wilson.

English Amateur Champion Zach Richardson beat Kaylan Patel. Bingham beat Ford. Alfie Burden is still going after beating Liam Highfield. Yuan Sijun, Jackson Page, Ben Mertens, Julian Boiko won, and just now Noppon beat Stan Moody.

Alfie Burden celebrates his 49th birthday tomorrow, and he's in the semi-final after beating youngster Zach Richardson. He plays Noppon in the semi-final, after Noppon neat Ben Mertens.

Stuart Bingham turned 49 around 7 months ago. Both seniors could be in the final after Ballrun beat Jackson Page. His opponent in the semis is Julian Boiko who beat Yuan Sijun.

It will be an all seniors final as Alfie Burden makes a break of 73 to close off his match with Noppon, to face Ballrun in the final.

RE: World Snooker Shootout - Ree's No.1 fan - 13-12-2025 23:28

Alfie Burden deservedly won the title and celebrated exuberantly walking on the table.

Well done to him.
Useful 20,000 ranking points for Bingham too given his ranking situation.
