Brilliant idea getting in Roy. Think of the money that he'll save the FA by using his bus pass to get to all those matches.. Big Grin

At least he's younger than Harry Redknapp.

I just wonder what the FA would have done if Tottenham were still being talked about as title contenders, as they were when Fabio resigned, instead of fighting for 4th place as they are now?

Your right Harry's 65 now and Roy's only 65 in August.
Where's all the younger English managers?
I suppose that all the Priemiership jobs have been filled with Scots, a Welshman and Continental guys.

Odds from Paddy Power on Roy Hodgson seeing out the whole of his 4 year contract: yes he will 5/4, no he won't 4/7. By the way, I see that Alan Curbishley is the favourite to replace Roy at West Brom.

So if the FA said that Roy was the only one they approached about the England job, then 'Arry was never on the shortlist in the first place. I think it was a combination of things that never got him the job:-

1) His court case
2) The amount of compensation Levy demanded from the FA
3) Spurs' recent form

Yet I would have preferred the situation that Roy was temporarily appointed for the Euros, and then had the option to guide England through the qualifiers for Brazil. I think if England don't get through the group stage at the Euros, Roy will be under enormous pressure to qualify for the World Cup.

Typical bone idleness by the people who run our national teams will they never learn

Football:Steve McClaren
Cricket : Peter Moores
Rugby : Andy Robinson (he's doing such a good job in Scotland NOT!)
Stuart Lancaster - the jury is still out give him a year before I decide

The current FA bosses are bias against Spurs,Davis Dein(Arsenal)Trevor Booking(West Ham)

I cannot get my head around the idea they never even interviewed Harry. Thats remarkable. I also cannot get my head around the idea this 64 year old got a 4 year deal. The FA will be sweating if does not get off to a good start otherwise he will lose the fans and the media quickly.
