On the 3rd day Engand's bowlers have been flayed by Warner and Clarke, who put on 158 in 29 overs. On a better note for England they have now taken the wicket of Warner and Australia are 233/3. The lead is 392 and there are still 53 overs left today.

Edit: Better for England, Tremlett has got Smith out for a duck. Australia are 242/4.

If Australia are going to take the attack to Swann England may have to consider finding a place for Ben Stokes in the side by dropping a batsmen.

Need some rain Rolleyes.
Couple of days worth will do laugh.
This has been a depressing test match for England.
The batsmen have not only been guilty of a horrendous collapse but have worn their own teams bowlers down in the process by virtue of a very small time gap between innings.
Our four man attack is suffering. Clarke will be loving inflicting physical and psychological damage on England.

In the second test if Clarke wins the toss he should definitely bat and wear the England bowlers down even more.
Have to be utterly ruthless.

Clarke's is an attacking captain & will be looking to declare around 550 lead & at least 10-15 overs at England.

with a lead of 560 I would say we could do with it raining non stop for two days!! And if we bat I can't see why Cook can't open with Bell and drop Tremlett down to 3 to bat with KP. we blew it on day 2 for definite.

Well no change of order. Carbs unlucky playing on for a duck. Trott looked all at sea before flicking a catch to back square off a short pitched ball from Johnson. Cook and KP looking very solid as England finish on 24-2.

I would drop Trott for 2nd Test and use him in the matches between tests to get his confidence back and use him at no.5

Trott's been working on his short ball problem but to little effect..

And Carberry must really learn to shut his legs.

Surely what the players need to watch is a replay of that 1981 Headingley stand between Dilly & Botham. That would probably make them think theyc they should somehow try to take the game by the scruff of the neck and take the game to Aussies

Hard to believe that when Australia were 132-6 we were thinking this would be a cakewalk
