RE: The Flash - *Kal-El* - 20-09-2014 00:40 RE: The Flash - *Kal-El* - 23-09-2014 21:54 Almost here RE: The Flash - *Kal-El* - 24-09-2014 20:03 RE: The Flash - *Kal-El* - 24-09-2014 20:46 I thought i would bring people up to speed lol on the history of The Flash and that begins with the very first one called Jay Garrick. He was created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert and first appeared in Flash Comics in 1940, published by All-American Publications. He was soon featured in All-Star Comics as part of the Justice Society of America. In 1941, he got his own solo book, All-Flash. He would be considered to be the golden age Flash, with Barry Allen the next Flash being the Silver age. How he got his powers were very different to how Barry Allen and Wally West would get there powers, he accidentally inhales hard water vapors after falling asleep in his laboratory which results in giving him super speed, he then makes his own costume and wears a helmet with wings on each side based on the god of Mercury. He would later become close friends with the Golden age Green Lantern Alan Scott who he mets when they form the JSA, Justice Society of America this would feature other members like Doctor Fate, Hour-Man, the Spectre, the Sandman, the Atom, and Hawkman. the really odd thing is that Jay Garrick and Barry Allen don't exist in the same universe, Jay Garrick exists on Earth 2 and Barry Allen exists on Earth-One which would be are Earth and they would later met up after Garrick retires in 1960's. Following the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths all the different multiple Earths including Earth 2 and Earth-One changing the history of Earths with now all the Flash's prior the DC 52 reboot Jay Garrick, Barry Allen (who died during Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths and would later come back via the speed force) and Wally West and at one point Bart Allen would become Kid Flash then The Flash and back to Kid Flash again which i will explain at a later date with the rest of Flashes in detail. Also he aged slower because of super speed. With the DC 52 reboot Jay Garrick was placed back on Earth 2 again but has aged 21 rather then being in his late 50's but in this reboot he gets his powers from god of Mercury when he dies. His uniform looks similar to previous version of Jay Garrick but with a modern twist. One of his main villains prior to the reboot was a guy called Rival, Dr. Edward Clariss, a professor at the university attended by the Golden Age Flash, Jay Garrick. He would try to copy the formula to give super speed but it only worked for short periods of time. The pictures below show the original version of Jay Garrick and the current DC 52 Jay Garrick, next up will be Barry Allen.
