England were instrumental in their own downfall in many ways, but how nice of the ECB to allow the Netherlands to have competitive cricket against most of the England players in today's side in our 40 over competition for the past 4 years.

Wonderful from Sri Lanka, they play with so much passion, skill and intensity. I hope they go all the way, Sangakarra, Jayawardena and Dilshaan deserve to lift a trophy in their careers. I just hope that when they retire there are guys to take their places. A tournament without a competitive Sri Lankan team would not be so good!!

Sri Lanka won the toss and batted against West Indies in the first semi-final, a repeat of course of the last T20 final. Sri Lanka got off to a flying start, making 41 in the first 4 overs, but reached the halfway stage of their innings on 65/3. It looks like a very evenly balanced match, as it did at the start.

Sri Lanka have made 160/6. Bookies had Sri Lanka as slight favourites at the start, but they now make West Indies slight favourites.

RE: 2014 ICC World Twenty20 - Jack Bishop - 03-04-2014 15:48

They said 88% of sides batting first have won with 160+ on that ground but all the time Gayle is in (and even after that some big hitters to come) WI must be in with a chance.
