But the families of the pilots haven't said anything yet. HELLO, this is odd.

The U.S. know because this is their work. Using fly by wire technology, the U.S. have remotely commandeered the plane and have flown it like a drone to Diego Garcia.

Yes, I posted as much yesterday. One of the pilots simply turned the plane around and the passengers probably didn't know anything was amiss. Assuming the plane turned north rather than south it most likely landed somewhere in Pakistan or Afghanistan and was safely in a hangar before daytime and well before the public was aware of a missing flight. Even the FBI have said that it's a real possibility that MH370 is on the ground somewhere and is still in one piece. In this scenario the plane has already been repainted and will soon be repurposed as a weapon of mass destruction. There's a reason they wanted a heavy (7,500 mile range) jumbo jet and it's not to sell off its parts or fly it to Europe to request asylum. Potential targets include Tel Aviv and Washington. This is a very well planned operation and the plane with its new livery and its new transponder will soon be utilized in an attack that will out do 9/11 or any other act of terrorism we've ever witnessed.

And would need some serious financial backing. If you have that kind of backing, why would you want to hijack an airliner (and raise the alarm) when you could just buy some old airliner at a knockdown price?

Investigators are now looking into a flight engineer who was a passenger on that flight.

If this isn't a case of the pilot freaking out, is it possible that the two Iranians on stolen passports have pulled off on the greatest heists ever?

Some people are arguing that the plane must have intruded into the airspace of several countries and even that one of these countries may have gone so far as to have shot it down, but certainly won't admit to it now that they know it was a commercial airliner with passengers on board.

I agree with this. If you want to fly a plane into a target you hijack it and do the job immediately before anyone has a chance to comprehend what's happening. You don't land and wait because then everyone is on the look out for you. Any unidentified radar blip or visually spotted jumbo jet is inevitably going to be intercepted and investigated, meaning that the missing plane would have little chance of ever getting to it's intended target.

If the missing plane landed somewhere it must have had the collusion of at least one government.

What if there never was a plane in the first place?
