RE: Free Windows 10 Upgrade - wackawoo - 22-08-2015 17:39 I have run that and there seems a lot, but some have to do with programs, yahoo, a big bulk are microsoft, the unknown ones are more of a concern. Do all these open if you run windows 7 only or other OP's, may be it's the nature of the beast? RE: Free Windows 10 Upgrade - HEX!T - 22-08-2015 19:10 windows 8.1 recently got an update that sends all the telemetry that win 10 does. they snuck it in under essential updates. win 7 no but m.s have now made the harassment icon to update to win 10 an essential update also. again they are being sneaky. some of the unknowns 1s will be for certificate authority's and browser updates. as well as your isp. the system prefs reset seems to happen after i get an update for win 10. basically when the windows store and the links are updated they are re-enabled by default. im now gonna go back through my reg entry and group policy changes and see if they have been re-enabled also. if they have then its the final straw for me and i will be going back to 7. RE: Free Windows 10 Upgrade - wackawoo - 22-08-2015 22:00 I may go back to windows 7, not becasue i'm having a massive amounts of problems but simply the function I use are all from windows 7 and have no need for the extras. Good to see windows 95 still holding in there. I remember the global excitement over the launch of Windows 95, but I find it amazing that anyone's still using it now. KB3068708 KB3022345 KB3075249 KB3080149 if you dont already have them installed check for updates and when they show up right click on them and select hide update. it will stop it being installed at a future date or without your knowledge. RE: Free Windows 10 Upgrade - Count Spankula - 02-09-2015 14:16 So may I ask what the consensus of opinion is then, to upgrade or not? I have 2 computers, one with windows 8.1 and the other with windows 7. Is anyone willing to argue that it would be a good idea to upgrade either or both of these? Or is there nothing much to gain from it? I see the the spy ware warnings, above but personally I have had no problems thus far.
