Bercow slapped him down there are times when I think Bercow is the key to finally getting a deal through Parliament. Remove him as speaker and replace him with a MP who can be neutral to both and impartial sides of thr bloody argument, troubles thdere aren't that many MP's who be bloody neutral!! Tongue Tongue Rolleyes annoyed

So you think it's alright for the PM just to dissolve Parliament if it won't bend to his will? That sounds alot like a dictatorship to me.

Bercow might be an odious little cunt, but he has his uses.

he is a odious little cunt that's for sure but what I'm saying is he pretty much nails his colours to the remain side every time he opens his gob and therefore any new PM with pro brexit qualities will have just as hard a time getting a deal through parliament as May did then we'll be back to square one.

So do you, or do you not, think it's ok for a PM behave like a dictator and dissolve a Parliament that won't bend to his will?

NO of course not

RE: Next PM - The Silent Majority - 08-06-2019 14:07

So Bercow's right to stand against this?

RE: Next PM - skully - 08-06-2019 14:21

It doesn't really matter what side of it Bercow is on personally, he is doing his job correctly, to say otherwise is ignoring the fact that without him, some of these supposed representatives would be trying to force their personal will upon everyone, ignoring the fact that there has never been a majority for no deal, and no actual consultation or consensus on what most leavers actually want. Brexit means Brexit means nothing, because no cunt knows what it should actually be.

The only people to blame for how long this process is taking are those in the Tory party, the infighting and lack of cooperation and compromise is why this isn't working how people want, and people like Raab need to be kept on a tight leash. Some in the Tory party, are making a little sense, but whether or not they can do better than blinkered May and reach an agreement, will be a wait see moment.
If Brexit ever actually happens, the only way it be remotely smooth is if both sides are able agree on something that either makes both kind of happy, or makes them equally unhappy, but makes sense.

Parliamentary Sovereignty is what the Brexiteers said they wanted back from Brussels. Seems to me that everytime they run into it they cry foul and complain. As has been said dissolving parliament to force through a Brexit that does not have parliamentary support and has not been put to the people is the act of a dictatorship and must not be allowed. I have seen comments that if Raab tried to do this he’d find the Queen couldn’t see him immediately which would give MP’s the chance to hold a vote of no confidence in the Government and force a General Election.

I couldn't care less that Gove took drugs other than it shows the difference in how we perceive & treat drug users as to whether they are a politician/middle or upper class as oppose to working class & ethnic minorities
