A shocking event for all involved when a fit athlete collapses on the field. American football is high speed, high impact sport that has paralysed several players over the years. It brought back memories of Ryan Shazier's injury in 2017 and Fabrice Muamba's experience in 2012. The NFL network coverage today was quite emotional to watch and I really hope that Damar Hamlin makes a full recovery.

Latest update on Dama Hamlin is that his condition has improved.
It has been decided that the Bills @ Bengals game will not be resumed.
A meeting will take place today (Friday) to decide the Playoff picture. By not resuming the Bills @ Bengals game, it has impacted the result of the AFC No.1 seed, & more importantly, the resulting bye week, & homefield advantage. The main concern seems to be how best to minimize competitive inequities with these 2 teams having now played 1 regular season game less. If the AFC Championship game features teams who have played unequal number of games, the recommendation will be to play it at a neutral venue.

I see that the bottom team the Houston Texans are currently winning.
Plus the fact that Rammy's team Chicago Bears are getting beat could mean that the Texans don't get first pick in the draught.
If the Texans have any sense they'd lose the match just to get that 1st round pick.

Week 18 seemed to be scrappy affair, with some teams protecting/resting players with 2nd & 3rd string squad members getting extended gametime, with different wat steak.
A bad week for kickers, don't think I've seen so many extra points missed let alone field goals.
Rodgers fell at the last hurdle, it's been a miracle that the Packers have stayed alive for this long. Credit to the Lions for finishing with a winning record after such a bad start, but sadly no Playoffs.
Brady finished with a losing season record for the 1st time in his career, as the other 3 NFC South teams finished just one win behind. Next up the Bucs host the Cowboys on Monday night, who are looking to bounce back after a bad loss to the Commanders.

49ers finished the regular season on a 10-game winning streak.
The Bears at least seal the No.1 draft choice for next season,
after their 10-game losing streak. Ouch !

^^The NFC North is a tough Division. The Bears need to look at their defense first, despite the lack of points scored on offence. The Vikings won the division with a 13-4 record, but actually gave up more points than they scored.

Open mind about tonight, once Lance as named as starter, I thought that a Playoff spot was a big ask, despite the all-round talent on the roster. Didn't expect to make it after using 3 QB's, so everything is a bonus now.
Not sure about being more than a TD favourites against the Seahawks, records & form count for nothing at this stage.
