Labour's handling over Diane Abbot has caused much anger amongst MPs beyond the left flank, many in the party see Starmer's office and those around him as a boys club

Regardless of how you feel about Abbot when you take this issue and add the way they went about getting Natalie Elphicke it shows that there are tensions between leadership & the PLP based on Starmer and his office seemingly not being able to read the room. In addition there was the incident on LBC where Starmer said he supported Israel cutting off water, electricity, supplies etc to Gaza (something that looks worse now considering the ICC is seeking warrants for Netanyahu's arrest on the basis of using starvation as a weapon of war) which not only cause great anger but somehow took 9/10 days to clarify.

All of this in my view points to a political naivety with Starmer and the people around him. Right now its not causing him much pain because Labour are in opposition & so nobody cares but if this continues in government when all eyes are on you it will be a problem.

After the election, if all goes according to the polls Starmer will be easied by having 150-200 new MPs who are in his mould because Labour has been ruthless in the selection process in making sure most of those selected fit the Starmer mould, plus they will feel like the got their jobs thanks to him.

Still the same was true for Johnson but a poor leader and a weak number 10 was one of the main reasons he was brought down, Ministers & mps were fed up doing the morning media rounds saying X only for it be Y by the evening and them being made to look rediculous infront of the nations cameras.

As Johnson said in his resignation speech, "when the herd moves, it moves". Doesn't matter how big a mandate Starmer has, how good his vision & or policies may be, if he can't manage the herd it will cause him serious trouble.

Liberal leader seems to have spent most of his time charging around the country looking for photo opportunities. He even deliberately fell off a paddle board on Lake Windermere into the excrement poluted water.

But they have pledged to bring football back to the masses, with 10 matches a session going out on a free to view channel.
