RE: UFC - groundnpound - 27-07-2011 15:32 The tallest Heavyweight in the UFC Stefan Struve 6'11" will fight the smallest Heavyweight Pat Barry 5'11" at UFC On Versus 6. Should be worth a watch lads RE: UFC - mitchell - 27-07-2011 16:51 Not only is Stefan Struve a better fighter with more experience but he's a foot taller 11lbs heavier & has over 8 inch reach advantage, Patt Barry will get destroyed, poor lad, I can't wait. RE: UFC - mitchell - 28-07-2011 18:51 Paul Daley is being followed by Whoa! TV for his fight with Tyron Woodley this weekend. I've not watched them yet so don't know how many episodes there is but here's three of them or all of em??? RE: UFC - TDK2008 - 29-07-2011 12:58 My predictions for the Strikeforce main card fights which is taking place this weekend: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Dan Henderson – Henderson, TKO, R1 Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Championship: Marloes Coenen vs. Miesha Tate – Coenen, SUB, R2 Tim Kennedy vs. Robbie Lawler – Lawler, TKO, R1 Tyron Woodley vs. Paul Daley – Woodley, DEC Tarec Saffiedine vs. Scott Smith – Smith, DEC Gesias Cavalcante vs. Bobby Green – Cavalcante, SUB, R1 RE: UFC - HEX!T - 29-07-2011 16:38 (27-07-2011 16:51 )mitchell Wrote: Not only is Stefan Struve a better fighter with more experience but he's a foot taller 11lbs heavier & has over 8 inch reach advantage, Patt Barry will get destroyed, poor lad, I can't wait. not to sure about that result as struve has been put to sleep the wrong way a few times now... your brain can only handle that happening so many times b4 your jaw turns to glass... like chucks did... 3 heavy KO's and then any 1 that got remotley close to his chin finished him... yeah he's a big lad but he has a long neck which means less muscle bulk to absorb the punishment. if barry who is build like a tank can get in close he will be able to punish the body enough to move up to the head which by that time should be an easy target... so as ever its any 1s game... i think struve will win but i think it will be a choke rather than a KO... RE: UFC - mitchell - 29-07-2011 19:48 I see what your saying but Stefan Struve's just turned 23 so is still a young fighter & already has a record that reads 26F 21W 5L with 14 sub wins, 4 of his loses are by KO all but one were in the UFC the other being his second ever fight when he was only 17. His UFC record is 8-3 with all 3 losses by TKO/KO but they were to Junior dos Santos 8 of 13 wins by KO, Roy Nelson 8 of 15 wins by KO & Travis Browne 9 of 11 wins by KO. So the only fighters he's been TKO/KO'd by are known as big hitters & Struve is known as a kickboxer who finishes most fights via submission. Like I said he's just turned 23 & is still developing his game not to mention strength which will take time given he's 6ft 11in he's pretty much up there when it comes to weight but most of that is down to his hight so when he adds some muscle to this over the next year he'll be a pretty decent force at 24 years old. Pat Barry's 32 & has only had 9 fights 6-3, 5 KO's 3-3 in the UFC. RE: UFC - HEX!T - 29-07-2011 19:56 thats the point im making roy nelson hit him and buckled him, he went down hard. as did dos santos.. they were 2 horendus good night shots and thats when the trouble starts. its not like he got hit half a dozen times and fell over. he got hit 1s and he was litraly turned off at the switch. this is what bothers me in that its happens 2 times now. all it will take is another couple of em and he will forever have a glass jaw. he wont be able to survive flurrys that others would shake off. i really dont hope this is gonna be an issue but its likley that it will. RE: UFC - mitchell - 29-07-2011 23:25 We'll agree to disagree on this one but remember people were once saying the same about Amir Khan. RE: UFC - TDK2008 - 30-07-2011 07:00 Does anyone know when ESPN will be doing a free to air weekend again? Thanks. RE: UFC - groundnpound - 30-07-2011 10:03 I've said on here before what i think of Struve and his long neck.Don't think he'll be able to stand with the top lads until he starts tucking everything in a bit. He's young and he does have a lot of potential to improve but for me i'd be making myself a bit more compact to avoid taking the big brutal shots. I think he'll have enough for Barry though, who'll probs try and chop him down with his powerful leg kicks.Struve to win though i think. Not sure on the ESPN weekend TDK?I've looked but can't see anything |
