In the Apache version, he hides in the anus of a buffalo...ouch! Self-driving Volvos avoid deer, elk and caribou but don't recognise kangaroos. RE: Fascinating Facts and Trivia - GMach1 - 19-01-2019 14:09 Was sorry to read about the death of Windsor Davies but did you know he was born in Canning Town, East London but had Welsh parents. He wanted to do the Battery Sergeant Major in It Ain't Half Hot Mum as a cockney but the writers Jimmy Perry and David Croft said they wanted his Welsh accent. That programme incidentally has never been repeated in this country but it is shown in far-flung countries like Dubai, Canada and Australia. Got a few more bits of trivia on this later. RE: Fascinating Facts and Trivia - Carl-Gen X - 19-01-2019 14:12 Not sure Windsor Davies performing the role of Sergeant Major with a cockney accent would have worked somehow. ‘Orwight Lavverley Boy’ ‘Shaaaaat Aaaaap’ Nope..,don’t think so.. It Ain't Half Hot Mum was entirely male cast, it is the only comedy by Croft and Perry that doesn't have a female main character. Stuart McGuigan the gruff Scottish soldier in 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum' started off presenting Play School Kenneth McDonald would go on to play Mike the landlord at the Nags Head in 'Only Fools and Horses' Melvyn Hayes was a child actor and then starred in Summer Holiday with Cliff Richard-despite playing the effiminate Gloria in It Ain't Half Hot Mum, he was married three times and had 6 children.
