Chances are you probably remember the advert for Cadbury's Caramel chocolate bar, but I bet you also found the cartoon bunny sexy too(go on admit it, you did didn't you Big Grin) but I bet you didn't know that the sexy voice was done by Miriam Margolyes - who also did the overdubbing in Monkey of several characters including the priest who looked a lot like a girl! Did you know where the phrase eating humble pie comes from? Well amazingly neither did I until about 5 minutes ago. Apparently it dates back to William the Conqueror who when out hunting stag/deer would have to kill it, then split it from chin to testicles(which would be put on a stick and paraded around) and then the best part of the deer, the haunches whereas people lower down the pecking order would be given the intestines or numbles but because they were tasteless they were put into a pie... a NUMBLE pie and over the years it became corrupted to what we know today as HUMBLE PIE.

Anyone listening to LBC radio in the 80's/90's might recall presenter Clive Bull's show at night and he used to have some odd people ringing his show such as Babs from Bermondsey(cockney lady), Charles from Camden Town(an old man who seemed lonely but had a lovely singing voice) Schmuel a bagel maker and Sven a Norwegian fisherman who used to regale Clive with tales of fishing. It was years later that he found out that 'Sven' was in fact the comedian PETER COOK who used to be a fan of the show.
