It looks as though Johnson is intent on staying until October. He's even reshuffling the cabinet.

There was a funny moment on Sky News when they were interviewing Chris Philps and someone in the background was trying to drown him out with Benny Hill music.

See Boris was again playing the "Blame Everyone Apart From Me" playbook which hasn't gone down well along with a reshuffle.

Bet this was Nadine Dorries this morning "I'm F****d" laugh & "Oh S**T"

His speech was typical Johnsonian atrociousness. No contrition whatsoever very much that he was in the right but the Tory party or "the herd" were against him, no acknowledgement of the content of Lord McDonald's letter. A list of his "achievements" and a petty swipe at his opponents when he praised the police saying that they were the only ones who don't leak.

You would hope that the party, having now got rid of BJ, would see that electing Rabb to the top job would be replacing like - for - like!! Certainly in terms of character. Remember how he acted during the height of covid, and then the circumstances around him losing his cabinet post.

Raab has already said today that he won't be a candidate.
