Blackburn Rovers (5th place in the Championship) have confirmed John Eustace has left his role as manager to take over struggling Derby (21st place in Championship).

He's moving to a club nearer to home, and Derby's one of his former clubs.

thats wanting to be closer to home is a load of bollocks he was after the preston job

if he was so unhappy at rovers why was he wanting a new contract

he seems to want the world and then when he doesnt get it throws his dummy out

He left it too long then - their form now suggests a few more wins and they could still make the play offs - which given their rotten start to the season would be a small miracle.

Burnley's 12 match run in the League without conceding a goal ended last night as Cardiff City managed to put the ball past James Trafford. The first time in 1,132 minutes.

Burnley still went on to win 2-1.

Preston aren't going to go up, but they aren't going to go down. So they can give the FA Cup their total commitment. Where as Villa have to keep some back for the league and europe.

Bless, I doubt even many of the PNE faithful are taking that optimistic a view. It would be extraordinary, no doubt, and from the crap season start to an FA Cup quarter-final is worth celebrating. But freewheeling to a top half finish as well would maybe be more realistic a target than expecting to walk up the Wembley steps.

hopefully will see PNE in premier league before i Kark it

only one of the big local teams to not make it think best chance was with moyes but then moved to everton
