Johnny Smith did an interview with Matt Neal and Jason Plato on his Late Brake Show. They both said the same, and that was from back during the Clarkson, Hamster and Slow days

You'd imagine Freddie would have nightmares about how lucky they all were with the bunjee stunt.
I've been re-watching the Clarkson etc years since Dave have repeated the earliest years for once, and it's been very entertaining, but it's not wholly surprising they eventually started to go off the rails. There's got to seem ennui about finding new ways to say "here's a new car, and here's a review of it".
