Burnley still went on to win 2-1.

only one of the big local teams to not make it think best chance was with moyes but then moved to everton
One day, an entire generation will go, "really? they did? no!" and then have heart attacks Blush

Even bloody Blackpool made it, and that always seemed even less likely.

PNE still likelier than Morecambe, but that really is damning with faint praise Surprised

You have to be careful of what you wish for, so much fun to be winning games in the Championship, or in some cases drawing a shed load of matches.

Whoever goes up with have to look forward to getting battered most weeks followed by the almost inevitable relegation.

Gifted a goal. Leeds missed some nailed on chances, the ref missed a nailed on pen, but Portsmouth were worthy winners on the day.

Wide open again in the Champo, still 2 from 3 for automatic promo. Burney did some astute work in Jan & are now reaping the rewards, I'll put pressure back on them & say there are new favourites to go up as Champions, scoring goals for fun & not conceding. Leeds were complacent by not strengthening in Jan.
Tough games on Tuesday, but a potential for a new League leader which will pile the pressure back on Leeds who play Wed.

The referee didn't help you. Portsmouth played like it was a cup final and their goalkeeper had golden match.

Also I notice that Everton are after some more of your backroom team.

I'll just about take that as Leeds fan, with our 2 nearest rivals only managing draws against tough opposition.

The playoff places are up for grabs with Covs 2-0 defeat to Derby, & Wednesday came back to win against Norwich from 2-0 down, surely not a late surge by them.

The top 4 looked booked in, the final 2 Playoff places are far from decided.

Plymouth look like they're gone but half a dozen sides are battling to stay up.

It's back in Leeds' hands to win the championship this year.
It's a 3 team race for promotion but sods law says that the 3rd place team will probably get knocked out of the playoff by the 6th place team.

^^ With the top 3 being so close, whichever team misses the automatic promotion place, thy will have that disappointment that can affect them in the playoffs.
I see Burnley as the best equipped side to progress through the playoff route & their style of play lends itself to premier League survival.
Burnley have the toughest run-in of the 3, I have a feeling this will go all the way the superior goal difference that Leeds have could be vital & Burnley also have that advantage over the Blades.

The Championship relegation battle is quite ridiculous. Derby who are third from bottom and in the relegation zone are only four points away from 17th, six away from 16th and seven away from 15th. They are one point from a safe position as it stands. Any three from around 10 teams could face the drop. Unbelievable stuff eek.
