RE: Football League: Discussion - Snooks - 29-03-2025 18:31 League Two is heading for a thrilling climax with the top seven separated by only 9 points with seven games left for most teams. Walsall appeared to have promotion pretty much sealed at halfway in the campaign but their form has fallen off a cliff and they now only lead by one point. They are now on 88 points with just 4 games to go. They are joined by Burnley who are also on 88 points. But Sheffield Utd have a must win match against Burnley coming up. Sheffield Utd lost again today and are now 5 points behind the automatic promotion places. Weird how they changed 5 players before todays match, it looked more like a panic move. And their form is currently so bad that they may struggle in the playoffs for 3rd place. They need the win at Burnley to stop their season ending badly. RE: Football League: Discussion - Doddle - 12-04-2025 21:19 Birmingham City already promoted. It hasn't been called the Premiership since 2007. Some of the players who play in the Premier League weren't even born when it was last called the Premiership. For example. Moore of Tottenham, Armstrong of Everton, Monga of Leicester and Nwaneri of Arsenal. Others such as Lewis- Skelly of Arsenal, both Gray and Bergvall of Tottenham, both Dibling and Amo-Ameyaw of Southampton, Guilherme of West Ham, Acheampong of Chelsea and Konak of Brentford had only just been born at that time. RE: Football League: Discussion - lovebabes56 - 19-04-2025 06:05 QPR - Safe for another season after a 2 - 1 win at Preston. We've had a pretty bang average season but we've picked up a knack for scoring last minute winners these last few months. I hope now the owners will find enough to invest in decent players for next season and make it our aim to get into the playoffs next season - rather than going for the Championship. During the Burnley v Sheffield match the commentator said that the Leeds fans would be supporting Burnley. But I don't know, is promotion the no 1 or is finishing top of the league more important. RE: Football League: Discussion - SecretAgent - 22-04-2025 02:37 Automatic promotion every time. I may be 5700 miles away but I stayed up to see the updates on the Leeds game & still then went to sleep hoping Sheffield Utd got no more than a point so our promotion was confirmed.
