RE: Olympics 2012 - HoneyRocks - 13-08-2012 00:32 To be honest I think Paul Weller would have declined the offer of appearing at the Olympics even if he had been asked. Paul can still be a strange funny wierd sod at the best of times as Bruce Foxton told me when I met him a few years ago. LOL more chance of Gordon Brown bouncing back as our next Prime Minster than Morrisey giving it a second thought! Even more chance that Billy Bragg would have said yes if asked ha!!! There were rumours Duran Duran had been asked to appear and I guess it might have been sort of appropriate for them to have played Rio as a hand over song to Brazil - missed or forgotten opportunity possibly??? RE: Olympics 2012 - gazfc - 13-08-2012 05:11 As with every Olympian who wins gold their home town gets its very own Gold post box but as we already ready have unique white phone boxes we also get a gold one RE: Olympics 2012 - BarrieBF - 13-08-2012 07:44 (13-08-2012 05:11 )HannahsPet Wrote: why was there no ozzy now that would have been awesome I think Ozzy ruled himself out with this comment: "The Olympics is a total fucking waste of money. Rio in winter is hotter than London in summer. For example the temperature in London today will reach a high of 21 or 22C, compared to the forecast for Rio which on a winter's day today is for a temperature reaching 27C . |
