womens shot putt gold medallist nadzeya ostapchuk disqualified for failing a drug test! now valerie adams gets upgraded to gold, wot a shame that valerie didnt get to stand on top of the podium and hear her national anthem! this will probably be one of many! maybe they shud test athletes a week before the games and during the games!

I'm sure I heard them say that all medal winners would be tested (you would hope it would be before, during and after), Daley said he had to do two after he won his medal, because the first was too weak. Weak piss...nightmare.

its a shame cos it took away the chance for the clean athlete to hav her moment at the top of the podium! i remember hearing a few years ago about the east german petra schneider who won gold in swimming in the race where sharon davies finished 2nd at the moscow olympics, she admitted to drug taking! it robbed sharon davies of a gold medal and standing at the top of the podium! to this day i dont think sharon actually got a gold medal!

Wonder how long it will be for a team GB athlete to test positve or maybe even a chinese athlete? I agree though, I thought they were supposed to have tested atheletes before and after the events? and it is a shame that Valerie Adams wasn't ablr to stand on the podium.
It would be a travesty if Usain Bolt actually tested positive!! I thought she lloked more like butcher Boris johnson!!

to add to the sharron davies story above. it's correct, she recently again said she'd never gotten the mdeal she should have had. the girl flatly refused to hand it back, and the olympic peeps never persued her. we shoulda sent 'the boys' round to handle this..!!
the chinese have a whole different mind set to this than all other countries too..... they see a silver medal as a lost gold, not an earned silver..!! this why that 10m diver was banging his head on the wall over only getting silver, and why his crew blanked the american who won the gold. also explains the fellow chinese archer who won his gold with only scoring an 8 point hit. he was quoted as saying something along the lines of... "we don't win medals by only shooting an 8; for that i am deeply embarrassed and sorry".... my god.. he'd just ferkin won a gold medal..!!!!!

I think they tested athletes on a random basis in order to reduce the opportunity to cheat a test.I remember seeing some officials poolside at the swimming who seemed to be taking competitors at random for tests.Its got a lot better ,you only need to see old medal tables from Eastern Bloc days when USSR and East Germany used to finish top all the time.Which goes back to the Sharron Davies story.Also remember reading an article about an ex shot putter from the East Germany who had been so pumped full of steroids when she was a teenage girl that she had effectively become a man because of the incredibly high levels of testosterone in her body and had had a sex change as a result.

In defence of the East German woman. Many East German athletes unknowingly took steroids. Were often tricked into thinking they were taking vitamin pills. They way she looks at it, she still trained hard for that medal and now possibly has health risks in the future, so maybe thinks she deserves her medal.

Thats true East Germany doped a lot of their athletes without the athletes knowledge.
