RE: Internet Porn Site Regulation - admiral decker - 14-10-2015 09:28 Broadband TV News reports as follows: "ATVOD’s role in VOD regulation will come to an end on 31 December 2015. The decision follows a strategic review by Ofcom that led Ofcom to conclude having a separate organisation was no longer the most effective way of fulfilling its remit." RE: Internet Porn Site Regulation - HEX!T - 14-10-2015 17:13 thats actually good news. as ofcoms remit has more limits as to what it can and cannot censure. its also bad news because coz i was hoping atvod was gonna have to justify its closure of websites in the eu courts. RE: Internet Porn Site Regulation - 301 - 14-10-2015 17:21 I think the reason for this is that they want to regulate all sites not just VOD ones RE: Internet Porn Site Regulation - 301 - 02-12-2015 17:02 It seems that BT is blocking porn hub on part of their network according to this https://www.reddit.com/r/unitedkingdom/comments/3uvcjr/can_anyone_else_get_on_pornhub_in_the_uk/ One user states that when asking BT there is no reply or they hang up. Maybe its a government experiment to see the reaction of blocking sites? RE: Internet Porn Site Regulation - munch1917 - 02-12-2015 21:00 Wow, thanks for making me read that thread, it makes the average exchange on this forum look like a debate at the Oxford Union Can't say I'm greatly surprised by this. It's hardly likely to be a government conspiracy though, put your tin foil hat back in its box Most of the big isp's operate some kind of filtering to block the worst elements of the web such as kiddie porn sites. They typically use filter lists provided and maintained by third parties. It's not uncommon for 'legitimate' sites to get reported and placed on these lists and temporarily become blocked. A while back Sky were pretty notorious for blocking access to mainstream sites because of this sort of error. My guess is something along these lines has happened here. Given that other mainstream porn sites still seem to be accessible, it doesn't appear to be anything more sinister. I don't go on Pornhub much if at all but I tried to go on it the last few days to find a video and it says network error I think RE: Internet Porn Site Regulation - 301 - 03-12-2015 13:17 (03-12-2015 13:11 )xJ4Kx Wrote: 301 - What you said about BT must be true?
