RE: Tennis - hope84 - 19-01-2014 17:10 Ana Ivanovic - 2014 Australian Open in Melbourne 1/19/14 - RE: Tennis - Snooks - 19-01-2014 19:15 The ladies tournament is a little more open with Serena gone but in some ways it merely opens the door for Azarenka to defend her title. Unless Li Na, Ivanovic or Sharapova can raise their level it should be Azarenka's title imo. As for the men it is hard to see past a Djokovic v Nadal final really. RE: Tennis - mikedafc - 20-01-2014 02:43 Ivanovic and Li Na have impressed me and could dethrone Vika. Shame that Ana's victory is being tainted by Serena's coach leaking that she has a "back problem" even though she served 12 aces in the match which is no mean feat for someone with such a problem RE: Tennis - Doddle - 20-01-2014 07:42 (20-01-2014 02:43 )mikedafc Wrote: Shame that Ana's victory is being tainted by Serena's coach leaking that she has a "back problem" even though she served 12 aces in the match which is no mean feat for someone with such a problemYes, it was comical that a story about a shock upset, which isn't that flattering either, becomes "yeah, but she should have won, really" RE: Tennis - mikedafc - 21-01-2014 15:19 Well done to Genie Bouchard through to her first grand slam semi final and also well done Warwrinka for beating Novak to reach semi final RE: Tennis - Regenerated - 21-01-2014 19:26 Yes absolutely - another excellent match between Djokovic and Wawrinka with the Swiss number two getting revenge for last year. I'd have to back Berdych though in the semi final as that quarter final would have took a lot out of Wawrinka. Really excited by this Canadian youngster Bouchard - fantastic game and obviously has a bright future. First Canadian singles semi finalist, male or female, in any major, since 1984. Incidentally the Murray vs Federer quarter final is on the night session for Wednesday, so that means around 8.30 our time tomorrow morning. Eurosport has exclusive coverage of live Australian Open matches. RE: Tennis - Snooks - 21-01-2014 22:08 Shocked at Djokovic losing bur fair play to Stan. He deserved his win. Tournament of shocks. RE: Tennis - mikedafc - 22-01-2014 03:43 Radwanska or should it RadWANDska, with some of the magical shots she came up with today through to semi final beating Victoria Azarenka. It leaves Li Na as only Grand Slam winner of the four semi finalists. RE: Tennis - Regenerated - 22-01-2014 12:42 Murray's out, Federer through to the Nadal semi final on Friday. I don't think Murray had high expectations after the injury lay off, so a quarter final and a good fight against Federer is a pretty good result. Glad to see Federer finding the form of 8-9 years ago though. Can see him winning it if he can somehow get past Nadal. RE: Tennis - Joey 27 - 22-01-2014 15:39 could be an all swiss final |
